Trois Mouvements perpétuels - Poulenc
This set of three piano scores is the quintessential Poulenc. The paperback provides Poulenc's very famous and intricate Trois Mouvements perpetuels in highly acute print format just as its genius author would desire. A rich introduction about the composer and a littler more than two pages of commentary about the music are additional aids for performing and understanding these very influential pieces. Read this first, listen to the pieces on YouTube and start practicing a magnificent set of works that set Poulenc apart from other classic French artists. The first movement was the music that is played in Alfred Hitchcock's movie, "Rope". A fascinating tune that haunts the show of intrigue and tension.I highly recommend this set of works and find it amusing to see another report of this book that received only 3 stars. No matter how hard these works may be, they are presented in a perfect print on pristine paper that is nice and thick, slightly buffed to prevent reflection and make reading easier. You will need to practice these works more than one may imagine to get the light comedy out of the piano which Poulenc would expect.

Is this is knock off??
Pretty disappointed in the print quality. The cover was super faded and the print quality inside is subpar.... I also hate that the end of the music is printed on the back cover! Why?? I’m not sure if this is a knock off of an original Alfred Masterworks, but I might be returning this and getting a refund.
