Overall awesome product so far. Took them on a camping trip for 4 days and they were great for washing out hands, cooking with, and drinking from. Pros: -easy to clean, I can fit my arm in there (I do have little arms though) -easy to use the lid without fear of breaking it, unlike the blue aqua-whatever they are called water jugs -fits well in the bed of truck with other camping gear, they are slim, compared to those big bulky blue ones again -the plastic feels very durable Con: -Doesn’t necessarily have a good pour spout for washing your hands, but whatever, it’s a great jug!

We use these containers for camping, everyday drinking water use, and during weather events in our area. The containers are durable and well put together. The shell is not flimsy at all and the cap is also heavy duty. The cap and handle make it easy to take and fill them up. The slim and tall design make it nice for space as well. The cap is easy to open and close, does not leak, and is easy to use a water filter on. Would buy again.

A little expensive, but I have a feeling they're going to last for a very long time. I've had these for a few years now, and they're rugged and very solid. They impart almost no flavor into the water, and seal up nice and tight. My only complaint is that the cap always falls into the path of the pouring water, which is a REAL pain. I don't know how this oversight happened, because it's frustrating and obnoxious. However, I added a little hook that I can clip them up and out of the way when I pour water and it solved the issue. I suggest this to everyone.

Bought these oct 2020 at $40 each shipped, have seen them down to $35 each since then. Also bought the matching $20 cap wrench as well. I have a bunch, in 5 gal and smaller and these are absolutely the real deal....super thick and overbuilt....costly yes, but if you ever need water on hand....then you NEED water on hand. Only makes sense its protected with no worries of leaks, punctures, spills etc. 5 gallons in the carrier is heavy at over 40 pounds so not ideal for walking long distances with for sure. But for storage in a garage, closet, under the bed, whatever...it is convenient. These are the same that our military has...think hard use in extreme conditions, so they are more than capable for home, backup, camping, hunting use. Hope this helps you make an informed purchase decision...

I am very satisfied with the product--appears to be very sturdy. However, like one other reviewer, I was puzzled that the pour spout does not have a seal in the cap. My local hardware store did not carry the #210 O-ring recommended by another reviewer. However a #15 O-ring fit perfectly (O.D 1", ID 3/4", 1/8" diam). After installing the O-ring, I put water in the jug and turned them up-side-down. No leak at all. Now with the O-rings I added, it is a 5-star product.

These Scepter containers are made amazingly well! I got two of the 5 gallon jugs and they are really well made! Strong, thick plastic, threads for me seem perfect. I have a lot of water jugs as I usually go to the local artesian well to bring water home for consumption, these are my new favorites! I got them looking towards bringing water camping in easier to store containers, but they are really working well for hauling water in general! Super worth it, though I was skeptical before!!!

Read the reviews and wasn't quite sure about these Jerry cans, but now that I have a pair they seem extremely sturdy and durable. Mine have no leaking problems with simple hand tightening. Something to consider, if you over tighten something with a seal, you can damage it which would cause leaking, forcing you to just tighten it further. I feel like these are going to last me for a good long time.

It is very robust but I cannot get over the awful chemical/plastic smell. It is useless for me as I don't want to drink water coming from that plastic jug. Be aware
