Just what I needed, perfect for my style of cooking. You must use the fine grind of salt or whatever you use, as the holes are very small. But that's what I wanted. Be careful, one shake puts out a lot of material. So you'll oversalt if you're not careful, same with pepper. Tested with garlic salt too, and it worked great. The holes are too small for most granulated items, such as garlic, onion and etc. Easy to clean too. Make sure it's dry of course before filling. They're metal, so if you use them outside, and leave them outside even in a covered area or something, be aware of condensation inside and may clump up the material. I'll buy a couple more for fine grind spices that I use a lot. Good value too, very fair priced, and you can't always find these in some of the cooking supply stores.

I have always wanted a salt and pepper shaker set to have on my stove while cooking. I grew up with my grandmother having a set like this that she used every time she cooked a meal. They were so convenient and easily accessible. So I sought out a similar set. This set is almost identical. These 2 shakers are not labeled and the holes in each are the same. The holes are fairly large, but if you are using them to cook, they are wonderful. You could use for salt, pepper, cinnamon, sugar, or any spice... They are stainless steel with screw on tops. I have had no issue with rust and are easy to clean. I ordered this set of shakers to replace (yet again) a set of salt and pepper shakers that I keep on my cooktop. Every other set that I've purchased has some sort of plastic in it -- and if you leave them anywhere near your cooktop then eventually they will break, wear down or melt from the heat that inevitably occurs when you cook. Wow. These are exactly what I wanted -- particularly since the shaker top can handle Kosher salt. Screw tops fit snuggly, they're large enough to not be refilled often and they have a large handle to grip, even if you're wearing an oven mitt. Now, some people have griped that you can't tell the difference once they're filled between which one is salt and which one is pepper. Oh jeez. I have a nose! I put both up to my nose and with one whiff I could tell which one was pepper! A true cook takes the time to assess their ingredients without just grabbing and dumping, don't they? At least in my kitchen they do. These shakers came nicely wrapped (unbelievably secure) and were packaged well. I'm certain I won't be replacing them in the near future, as they will last a long time. I wish I had purchased these in the first place. Excellent product. If you're a cook who is looking for shakers to keep handy in a potentially higher-heat area (like your cooktop), these are it.

I needed a set of this sort of shaker for when I "batch grill" chicken breast that we then slice and package for the freezer for salads, stir fries, etc., in 5 oz ziplocks. When you have 5 pounds of chicken breast on the BBQ, with the already-seasoned-side down after flipping, and now want to olive oil and salt/pepper the flip side, you need FAST delivery of the S&P! Small table shakers just don't cut it. So for that these are perfect. Big holes, works with most salt & pepper we've tried. The only drawback is they're IDENTICAL! We had to put white and black tape on each to denote which is which. Odd that they're sold as a set, yet weren't embossed with S & P as would be normal. But otherwise, they're great! And hey - if ya get bored in the kitchen you can practice your Benihana "clank the shaker with the turning fork" tricks LOL :-)

My Backgammon set came in and we loved it. The quality is great and the chips are larger than most and substantial. I went to set it up and realized one black chip was missing. I was afraid I had accidentally thrown it out so I went out to the trash can and looked through the packaging material and box. No chip. I contacted the seller and they immediately reached out to me to notify me they would be sending out the missing "black" chip. Great Customer Service

Great shakers for Kosher Salt and Coarsely Ground Black Pepper. However, the handles are very thin and sharp. Especially if your hands are dampened (tender) from rinsing them off while cooking. However, you can simply wrap some tape or string around the handles (or grab the shakers by the body as I typically do) and you'll be good to go. All in all, great shakers for the price - but if you have deep-pockets, there's much better shakers available.

I have purchased shakers similar to these before, but their handles had broken with use and they corroded over time. These are truly professional quality stainless steel shakers that should last for the rest of my lifetime. One should be aware that these are identical shakers. Their hole sizes are exactly the same. I've put some colored tape on the handle of one of them to tell them apart. I like to use courser ground salt and pepper and these are perfect. If you use finely ground seasonings, you're likely to get more than you bargained for! Even so, it's not a deal breaker and you'll learn to be more careful when shaking. I'd certainly buy them again, but I don't think I'll need to.

I wanted metal salt and pepper shakers that I could keep on my stove without fear of melting, as a typical plastic shaker would. These also replaced a cheap metal shaker I got at the grocers (made in China) that I could never get the lid off of and had to get my husband to do that for me. These resemble the old time salt and pepper shakers my mother had on her stove when I was a child. They have a comfortable handle and the lids came off easily (I sprayed a little PAM on my finger and ran that around the threads to keep the lids from sticking.) The shakers work perfectly and I recommend them for anyone wanting the commercial shakers for personnel use.

Purchased this as a gift, and the recipient is thrilled with them. They arrived in under the shipping timeline suggested.
