Made a big difference
This has made a huge difference to getting out of bed in the morning - it's a nice way to wake up with the increase of light. I have more motivation and energy using this. I love it but there are a few things I'd change. Pros - small and compact - get to wake up to - I like the sunset mode (put it on when I get in my bedroom, as the light dims, it feels cosy and makes me sleepy) Cons - the red LED light that shows the time is bright. There is the option to turn it down, but even then it is bright. It can be turned off but then the time can't be seen - the alarm noise is so loud, even on the lowest setting. I turned it off in the end - I think the alarm has to be turned on each day - there is no reoccurring setting (at least I don't think there is) Maybe I'm expecting too much for a sunrise alarm clock. Just seems certain functions are a little outdated and it could do with a make-over/overhaul. Saying that, I wouldn't be without it.

Great clock
Really like it. You can not dim the any colour surround. You can only dim the white surround.

Good quality with basic features
So it appears I am the first reviewer to have actually paid for this ;) There's a lot of cheaper, unbranded and fairly tacky looking wake-up lights out there and I was happy to see this recently released budget model from Lumie, who have been making quality sunrise and SAD lights for years. Out of the box this is a nice looking unit and feels well made. No nasty looking plasticky fake chrome effects to be found - just a smooth white (with a bit of grey) matte finish all over. I only really bought it for the wake-up light, and particularly the option to have no sound on the alarm which seems absent on some of the cheapo models - I still wanted to use my phone for my final 'get-up' alarm. On this model, the light starts half an hour before your programmed alarm time and starts low, brightening up in small increments. My biggest issue with it is that the light is too bright after only 10-15 mins, and I've been having to try out later alarm times so that the light is still a nice level when my phone alarm finally goes off. I've now also covered it with a bit of muslin cloth to soften it further, and I face it away from my bed to it's not glaring at me when I get up. I wish there was a way that you could programme the maximum brightness on the wakeup light but as this is the budget model I assume they had to reduce the amount of customisations you can make. Perhaps this is something that's available on one of their more expensive models? Other than the wake-up light, there is the choice of 5 alarm sounds which will sound (if the volume is set) at the programmed alarm time. Some of them are a bit weird (goats and purring kittens?!) but I'm content to use my phone alarm for sound anyway. There is a sunset feature which is effectively the opposite of the wake-up light for when you are reading at night or whatever. It can also be used as a bedside light - the standard light is warm white (as is the wake-up light). There is the option to have a coloured light or mood lighting (cycles through colours) on the standard light function. Nice for a kid perhaps but I can't see myself using it that much. The standard light is dimmable. The coloured lights can't be used as the wake-up light unfortunately. You can dim the clock time - bright, medium or off. Which is a nice feature, although the medium is still fairly bright. If you have the clock light set to off it will come on when your wake-up light comes on so you know what time it is. Only problem is you have to look into the bright light of the wake-up light to see the time. One other very minor bugbear is that the wake up light doesn't switch itself off after a period of time. You have to manually switch it off. I only realised this after I went away for a weekend and forgot to switch the alarm off beforehand. The light must have been on all weekend... Instructions are minimal but give enough info and are well written. There is a removable labelled plastic film on the front of the unit to get you started on which each button does. I still needed to read the instruction booklet though. Overall it's a good unit and I'm going to stick with it. Light is definitely gentler to wake up to than noise, and it's making getting up a little easier now the mornings are so dark again. I'm glad I paid a little more for a Lumie model over one of the cheaper ones, but I wasn't prepared to pay silly money for one of their more expensive models. So I guess like most things - you get what you pay for.

A brilliant way to transform your morning
A brilliant way to transform your morning and evening routines, offering a gentle and natural approach to waking up and winding down. The sunrise feature gradually brightens the room, helping you wake feeling refreshed rather than jolted by a loud alarm, while the sunset mode slowly dims the light to promote relaxation and better sleep. It includes a range of calming sounds that enhance the experience, and the mood‑lighting options let you create a soothing atmosphere any time of day. The interface is user‑friendly, the design is clean and modern, and the light quality feels warm and comforting. Whether you struggle with dark mornings or want to establish a more peaceful bedtime routine, this wake‑up light is an effective and enjoyable addition to your bedroom setup.

Usable but major flaws
I've been using this for years and I do like it but I have several issues with it, which are a shame because it was reasonably expensive for basically a clock/lamp. The dawn lamp goes through obvious stages of brightness rather than a smooth brightening. This is an entry level sunrise lamp so I don't mind this too much. It is nice to wake up in this way, I also sent a gradual alarm (early bird app) as back up, I don't use the clocks in built sounds. It's nice to have other colour lights and I use the red every night. I wish it was properly red, it's orange really. When turning on the red lamp I have to go first through dim white and bright blue, it's the worst thing about the lamp. The buttons aren't embossed to you have to do this while looking at the lamp and it's to bright for late at night. The clock doesn't keep time. I can't rely on it as a clock, which is it's main purpose. It's plugged into the wall so power isn't an issue. It falls out of time really quickly after readjusting this. All in all, I recommend spending more and going for a better sunrise alarm model. Having said that, I'm not replacing it any time soon because they're so expensive.

Great!!
It actually worked! I am the complete opposite of a morning person and bought this because i was sick of feeling permanently exhausted during the winter. The light gradually lights up half an hour up to your alarm, where you can set birdsong or a nice beep thats much nicer than the iphone alarm. I still set the alarm on my phone just in case, but I’ve woken up well before and switched it off every time. No more brain fog and no more exhaustion halfway through the day. I also lowkey like that its not controlled by an app - encourages me to put my phone away and the buttons on the lamp are intuitive. So so so recommend !!
