Thomas A. Anderson is a man living two lives. By day he is an average computer programmer and by night a hacker known as Neo. Neo has always questioned his reality, but the truth is far beyond his imagination. Neo finds himself targeted by the police when he is contacted by Morpheus, a legendary computer hacker branded a terrorist by the government. Morpheus awakens Neo to the real world, a ravaged wasteland where most of humanity have been captured by a race of machines that live off of the humans' body heat and electrochemical energy and who imprison their minds within an artificial reality known as the Matrix. As a rebel against the machines, Neo must return to the Matrix and confront the agents: super-powerful computer programs devoted to snuffing out Neo and the entire human rebellion.

The Matrix in Atmos :: Thank you Excel Home Videos
When I heard that they are re-releasing The Matrix trilogy in 4K UHD with a new Dolby Atmos track I was immensely disappointed to learn that the Atmos soundtrack will be limited only to the 4K set. But that's the case with the rest of the world because thanks to Excel Home Videos, we are getting a separate Blu-ray release here in India, with a new video remaster and the same awesome reference quality Atmos audio. Must must buy.Also I would like to specially thank Excel Group for gifting me a superb James Bond Coffee Table Book with this order. Couldn't be more happy with the team. Keep up the excellent work. Cheers!!Picture Quality - 5/5So I had heard that not only the 4K Blu-ray but also the standard HD Blu-ray is getting a new picture remaster and the results are pure reference grade. The movie mostly consists of Blues and Greens and both these colors are very finely represented, not overdone like the previous editions. The video is sharp and contrast excellent. Skin tones are natural though I felt that the dynamics could do with some improvement. It's definitely a fine upgrade and makes this purchase even more compelling.Audio Quality - 5/5The Matrix has always been the go-to demo disc for showing off your home theater system right since the days of its DVD release. And the new Atmos track takes it to a different level altogether. The level of immersion is outstanding throughout the movie. The lobby shootout sequence, the chopper scene, Trinity's intro in the beginning, the training scenes, the trademark bullet dodging sequence, all make for instant demo material. The rewind button on your remote is going to suffer once you start playing this disc. The rain drops fall on you, the helicopter flying above you and make sure you dodge that bullet otherwise it might hit you. Kudos to the sound engineers at Warner for giving us such aural pleasure through a movie that deserves all the fine detailing it has received in this edition.No matter if you own this movie on DVD, Blu-ray or the complete trilogy, if you are a fan, this edition is a no-brainer. Or better yet, the 4K one if you have the setup.

The Matrix is an excellent movie.Since the DVD the audio track present in this Movie is always superb and many movies followed the trend of having powerful audio for more immersion in movies.It's a very innovative movie and interesting for the viewer to discover the truth with Neo. The Matrix reveals that our life is nothing else than an illusion and a lie. We have destroyed ourselves. Machines have taken over and use us as power sources.It's an exciting film with an interesting and scaring idea. I have already seen this movie, its a classic and I wanted to introduce Engilish and World Cinema classics to my parents, who would find it easier to watch a Hindi version.

Ground breaking
One of the most stunning films of it's generation;shame then that the two sequels didn't do justice to the original.In hindsight I will rephrase that;the second was pure poor & the third was plain crap!

Calidad de imagen espectacular
A ver no voy a hacer una reseña de la película en sí, un clásico moderno, una de las mejores películas de la historia desde mi punto de vista.Lo que es la edición 4K me ha impresionado, llevo ya varias películas en 4K compradas donde me he sentido estafado, donde la imagen viene reescalada y no se aprecian mejoras comparada a un 1080P. Esta edición no es de esas, nada más empezar ya notas que la fuente es 4K, 4 veces más resolución que el full HD. Impresiona desde el primer fotograma.Muy recomendable.

Un capolavoro del cinema di fantascienza con qualche dettaglio in più
Non perderò molto tempo a elogiare il film, che è una colonna della fantascienza moderna e che fece scuola a suo tempo in quanto a effetti speciali e trama superba. Spendo solo due brevi parole per dire che, per gli appassionati di Matrix, è d'obbligo possedere e gustarsi la versione 4K, che non aggiunge nulla di eccezionale alla qualità visiva del semplice blu-ray, ma che comunque permette di godersi qualche piccolo dettaglio in più nella definizione (il 4K) definitiva per il pubblico. Consigliato soprattutto ai fan sfegatati della saga.

Spettacolare
Il film non ha bisogno di presentazioni, il restauro in 4k è semplicemente strepitoso, una vera opera d'arte digitale, completamente rimasterizzato e ricolorato con supervisione dei registi e del direttore della fotografia originale, effetto hdr spettacolare (notare la tuta di trinity ad esempio), supporta anche il dolby vision per lettori /tv adeguati. Un blue ray 4k da riferimento nonostante il film abbia ormai parecchi anni alle spalle.

Film difficile da recensire.Non solo per la complessa architettura che lo contraddistingue,ma anche per la difficoltà che comporta seguirlo e capirlo fino in fondo.Matrix è un sistema di controllo basato sulla debolezza umana,che permette a chi ne dispone di stabilire il processo dei fatti che preferisce.Un sistema di precisione aritmetica che identifica gli uomini come oggetti interamente razionalizzabili e riconducibili quindi a esseri che seguono zelantemente i canoni stabiliti dalla società in cui vivono.L'incognita imprevista sta nel fatto che una percentuale bassissima di persone si ribella,sebbene a livello inconscio,a tale sistema e,una volta raggiunta autocoscienza di ciò,si impegna a distruggerlo.Il controllo e la libertà sono due enormi placche che stridono tra loro e mettono le autorità contro i singoli cittadini.Noi ci illudiamo di essere liberi ma viviamo in un sistema che il più possibile ci impedisce di essere ciò che vogliamo e di agire come preferiamo.Il quadro è angoscioso,ma estremamente conforme alla realtà.E' giusto ribellarsi a ciò,mettendo a repentaglio tutto ciò che si ha,oppure è buona cosa rimanere passivi di fronte a un destino già scritto?I Wachowski si impegnano in questo ragionamento,proponendo una pellicola forse troppo surreale per essere digeribile a tutti,ma lo fanno con una potenza e uno stile invidiabile.Matrix non è ciò che ti aspetti,è un flusso di coscienza continuo che disarma ed inquieta,dati i colossali argomenti che tratta e il modo in cui li affronta.
