Ponytail Palm 15 Seeds - Beaucarnea

Product arrived earlier than expected and and I was surprised that there were actually more than 15 seeds - it was almost double the quantity! They also included a nice gift which was a small packet of seeds for a some type of rose plant. There were no instructions so I googled instructions on line for planting the ponytail palm seeds. I had planted 12 ponytail palm seeds and unfortunately not one has sprouted. I will try and plant the remaining seeds later and hopefully one will sprout.

its sad... many people forget about root accelerators. like Root Tone or other name brands. a product that you can buy for clippings or seeds that accelerates root productivity. right before you drop a seed spray them damp... roll them around in this amazing product and bam. when bad reviews are for one you got what you asked for. a helpful tip. also a germination date happens faster. any pro gardener understands any shock comes with an opposite reaction. if these seeds pop very fast get them in a pot very quickly to prevent a tripled shock

I was so excited to find these seeds and intended to use them for shower gifts. First, I was given a range of dates on which the seeds would arrive. Three days after the end date, they had not yet come and I tried to reach the company. The phone number listed on Amazon and even the one found on the net got me to a recorded message asking for an access code. I had no way of knowing what that was. I then went to Amazon for help and was told I couldn't track the shipment because it was too soon. I put in a request which I was told could take several weeks to generate a response. The seeds finally came after that and came with a sheet of general instructions stating that if the seeds were hard, they could be soaked first, but no info on how long or how to do that. The tiny slip of paper that was specific for these seeds said the biggest problem was over watering and cautioned against doing that. I have put them in a greenhouse set-up but in 20 days, there is no sign of life. Even my basil seeds bought at Walmart listed germination times, there were none on my seeds. I fear that I now have 60 clay pots that will have no ferns in them for the shower. I am so disappointed.

I really like the Ponytail palms. I started 15 seeds. 9 of them germinated. I understand they can be hit or miss. I consider myself lucky those 9 popped. Excellent speed in shipping and I'm looking forward to my first transplant.Add-on: These little guys are growing very well. Each is about 4 inches tall now and have developed the little bulb at the bottom. I look forward to many years of enjoyment. Love those ponytail palms..

Pathetic and waste of time and money. Not only were there any planting directions not a single seed sprouted. I googled how to plant them and followed several directions but they did not grow. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I gave 1 star but only because it made me.

I tried three germination techniques. i have 5 seed left. All seeds but 5 did not grow. still trying with the 5. Buyer beware all seeds but 5 had mites or some type of worm that came out of them. Never seen that from any seed i have ever bought.
