I am a hobbiest gunsmith, and am fimiliar with a lot if the content. However, Paul makes it interesting and does some things in new or different ways than I typically see. I highly recommend it.

This is advanced and extremely specialized information, covering machining, fitting and all sorts of stuff that is a bit beyond my tooling capabilities at the moment. Don't bother watching if you don't have an intimate knowledge of 1911 or other automatic pistols. But if you do have such knowledge you will get a lot of information here which you simply can't get anywhere else.The instructor is a tiny bit hard to understand at times (bit of a South African accent) but Libenberg is an excellent instructor.The formatting of the DVD however is incredibly annoying, three minutes of un-skippable warnings of various sorts.

It is a little boring because it is very in depth on how to properly build a 1911 pistol. He show ways to smith the gun with both files and hand tools the traditional way of fitting and with major machine tools like a lathe and a milling machine. It is not a how too guide but it gives you enough information for someone who is good with tools and has a good understanding of how the fire arm works.

Well illustrated with modern, easy to understand language with more current firearms and products. Recommend book.

Paul is one of the great 1911 smiths of all time and this video is a great window into his world. I learned a great deal from it.

good dvd

Nothing on slide or frame fitting. Just tweaking existing pistol. Vague enough to intimidate viewer into using their services, and products. Misinformation e.g.: can't use one maker barrel with another's slide etc. some good info, but better all round stuff on YouTube. Used special tools only found in a full time 1911 shop. I'm a retired gunsmith.

Good product and very useful instruction.
