Series 5 5195cc

I am very happy with this shaver. And I love the cleaning system. It keeps the shaver clean and working well. Recently the side trimmer blade did fall apart and I cannot find a replacement for it, but the actual shaver continues to work well and I am very happy with it.

I have been through a few different razors over the years. The rotary ones work well, but tended to give me a bit of a razor burn. The other linear razor on the market left clippings everywhere.I finally come to a point in life where I could afford better razors and I chose the Braun. For me, it works excellently. Nice close shave without tearing up my skin. Does not leave clippings everywhere. Relatively quiet. The cleaning/charging station is a nice touch. I don't have to mess with the shaver and it is always ready to go when I need it.

My last Braun shaver gave me over 10 years of great shaves. I bought this one to replace my old shaver, since I felt I was in need of an update...not because the other one failed in any way. It was still holding a charge and working like it was brand new. This new shaver is nice and refined and works just like I would expect the Braun to work. Shaves very close for an electric, and I have a feeling it will last me another 10 plus years.

I bought a high end rotary (you know the brand) about 18 months ago, and used it for a year. Basically, it sucked. If I let my bear grow longer than a day, it hurt to shave. After two days unshaven, it would leave hairs behind, especially on the neck where hairs don't tend to grow straight out. I finally ate my investment, and bought this Braun. I'd never used a foil shaver before, and I regret that because this unit does a much better job, even when I don't shave every day.On the down side, the charging cleaning unit is laughably large (my wife's word were "You're kidding, right?"). And don't think about turning on the cleaning mode when anyone nearby is sleeping. It makes bursts of sound akin to a mini air compressor. Nice try, Braun, but no cigar.

This replaced my old Braun Series 3 razor that I had for probanly 15+ years. It still works, but the battery is now only good for maybe 5 days, & getting replacement cutters is getting more difficult. Still use it in the RV. This new Braun shaves very well, I have the cleaner so keeping it clean is a breeze. Very happy with Braun quality!

It's a bit fancy, but very luxury and good for my dad. Drugstore brands tug at the sensitive face skin and are painful, but this is more people-friendly and effective. Highly recommend, it's very nice that it is rechargeable and ergonomic but the cleaning unit is a bit too high tech for my dad, but still appreciated.

Working great so far. Much better than the 15 year old three headed Norelco I've been using. This shaver doesn't need to be pressed into the skin with alot pressure to achieve a close shave as some negative reviewers obviously did, it's just a matter of technique and understanding the way your own beard hairs grow.I'm still getting used to the trimmer as this Braun is heavier and weighted differently than the old Norelco. For cleaning I will pop the foil off and carefully tap it against the sink every day or two and only use the solution tank once a week or so.
