Edward the Emu

This book is hilarious and the drawings are perfect! I love the way the Emu expresses each emotion in its face! Great!

Originally bought this in Australia to add to my collection of books to read to my class...but gave it away to a friend's little girl...now had to replace the original 3 times...must stop giving it away!

My Year 6 (Grade 5) students love having this brilliant story read to them each year.:)

I bought this for my daughter now that she's a new mom. Edward the Emu was a go-to favourite in our home for years. It's an enjoyable read that the kids loved. My children have grown up, but this book is one of the ones that has remained on my bookshelf.

I bought this as part of our study unit about Australia. Kids wanted to learn about Australian animals. But it was not very useful at all, because the choice of animals depicted is random, from any continent and habitat (the story happens at the zoo), there was no real insight into Australia. No educational angle in this book. It would be much more useful a book such as “Have you seen my egg” in which the emu interacts with local endemic animals, it just adds an extra learning element that I personally find valuable. Returned.

My children loved this book when they were growing up and now they are reading it to their children.

Very popular with kids. Nice story about being happy with being yourself.
