No instructions, but this might help
Though the paper that comes with the stool says there are instructions, there aren't. They confuse the issue by calling all the hardware "screws" when there are screws and bolts with nuts and there are extras of each. After studying the photos, though, it is easy to put together. The screws (not the bolts with nuts) are used to connect the front cross piece to the sides using the lowest holes. The bolts and nuts then connect at the four corners of the footrest at the level you want it to be, 5", 7" or 9" high. All the heads of the screw and bolts have the heads to the outside which is where the holes are inset and so the heads will be flush with the wood. Don't tighten the hardware too tight until you have it assembled it and then tighten them all.

Amazing customer service!
Update: they reached out to me quickly and have gone above and beyond to make me happy. I am so satisfied with their customer service that I changed my 1 star review to 5. Things happen and sometimes products slip through quality control. They were willing to do what it took to make it right and thats the kind of company I would trust with my business!!!Original review:Just opened my package and its broken. A piece that is fixed to one side is broken from the other side and there is a chip in the wood. We are just going to glue it back on and hope it works. I don't want to go through the trouble of returning it. Not sure how well it will work, but since it arrived damaged, it gets one star. (The packaging was not damaged so not likely to have happened during shipment)

Directions are minimum, yet doable.... not so easily adjustable
I love this stool, it’s sturdy, not easily broken, and well built. Directions are scare but easy enough to figure out really. We haven’t had the need to adjust it. With that said, it’s a pain to adjust.... be careful not to strip to screws because you basically need to take it apart to adjust it. So if you have children and you need you stool lower as a larger being (aka adult size), you may want a different product or two of these stools :)

I wish I had known about this 50 years ago. It is life changing.
I have always believed that squatting for elimination is better and more natural. I camped in my younger years, so I kind of know of which I speak. Now I am old and would fall over sideways, like Arte Johnson on a tricycle, if I tried that kind of squat. HOWEVER, I found this wonderful little stool and everything is now as it should be. I keep it on a little rug because the plastic feet get caught on the tile floor; minor problem solved. This is one of the gifts we all deserve.

This is the one!
I think this item is GREAT. Way better than a plastic one. The few ppl who have been in my master bathroom always complement it. I have educated my entire extended family on why this is good for their health, and they NEED one. Also unlike a plastic one it has three adjustable step heights, can't beat that! Had it almost a year, and I feel it will last me many many more.If you want to poo in style, this is the squatty for you!Highly recommend this item!

Excellent!! No pictures because it looks just like what is advertised
I do not understand these other reviews it is like they are not talking about the same product. Came finished and with plastic sliders on the bottom, to my delight a SCREWDRIVER was included and all the holes were pre-drilled with nice sturdy screws to assemble it, gave an extra of each screw just in case. I love the tallest setting but it was to tall to slide completely around my toilet so I nipped the corners off with a skill saw and it slid right in! Love the wood look over the plastic.

Get plastic
I tried to buy only sustainable materials. So when I was looking to get a Squatty Potty I decided to get wood instead of plastic. That was a poor choice on my end. When you've got something in the bathroom right next to the toilet it just makes sense to get something that's easy to clean. There is no noticeable mess on the stool and I wipe it down with an antibacterial wipe every few days but there are little cutouts in the top board that you put your feet on and it's hard to clean inside those. For the sake of Sanitation if I got another one of these it would be plastic. The board you rest your feet on is curved to fit around your toilet and makes for a somewhat uncomfortable foot rest. Also, this was hard to put together. I still don't have the support screws on the bottom all the way in. I guess if you have a drill it would be easier but I don't.

What a comfort, what a joy.
Came with a screwdriver, dope. Also some extra screws & nuts.Instructions are limited, but set-up was pretty intuitive.Condition of pieces, pretty good. No damage.Decent quality for the price. And sturdy. After screwing it all together I spray-painted it my preferred color (not pictured). It was a smooth surface and therefore easy to cover evenly. It's a great height. I put it at the highest it will go because my toilet is pretty tall. Also fits well around the base of the stool while not in use.
