So many of the china manufacturers have abandoned making items in England, the US, and France. Numerous Spode items are made in Asia and not nearly the quality of that they make in England. These plates as well as salad plates we bought here were made in England at a great price. This is a classic pattern that sets a beautiful table but withstands everyday use. And the dishwasher. They are microwave safe but would use on a limited bases. It is a fine china. Large dinner plates as well as salad plates with a solid weight but not too heavy as some pottery can be.

These dishes are beautiful. I wanted something deep blue and classic and these fit the bill perfectly. Lovely blue color and I can set them out with my pure white set of dishes and my blue and yellow farm-style set. They seem more delicate than they probably are- they aren't fine china but not clunky either. I am very happy with my purchase and may end up order another 4 plates, and some dessert dishes as well.

There was so much bad Chinese Spode Blue Italian made before Portmeirion bought the company I had no idea if this would have those issues or match the Portmeirion-made versions of my other pieces. I was happy to see the quality was first rate (not that this is particularly fine china or anything, but good everyday or in the garden china). The plates matched the other pieces perfectly in the color of the white part of the plates themselves and in the quality fo the blue transfer design (it wasn't faded, or washed out, or poorly applied).

Items were well packed and arrived safely. Items were exactly as I expected- wonderful!

I ordered overseas and very pleased to see that the 4 plates were packaged in a properly sized hard box so they arrived intact. The plates are strong and durable so you won't be afraid to use them on a daily basis. The beautiful decoration of the plates make them ideal for displaying in my china cabinet as well, so they are both displayable and usable at the same time. And for such a beautiful product, it is reasonable priced also compared to other brands.

On a recent trip to the U.K., I became acquainted with Spode dinnerware. The owner of the B&B that we stayed at, used these plates on her table. I loved the pattern and thought it would be great to take some back as "souvenirs." I went to the store, where she purchased hers from, and when I saw the price decided that I'd pass on it. I hated the thought of paying that price, only to have them get broken in transit back to the U.S. By chance, I looked on Amazon and found the EXACT same plates, bowls and salad plates for a fraction of what I'd have paid in the U.K. They came perfectly packaged and have more place settings than I would have AND I paid less than I would have.

I piatti Spode Italian Blu sono bellissimi . Purtroppo sono arrivati rotti . Devo dire che non avevano un imballo fatto bene.... nessuna protezione di carta o di plastica cone bolle o con il polistirolo. Chiaro che arrivano rotti !!!!!

Cheerful but classy dinner plates , nice depth for roast and gravy as well big bouncy salads or spaghetti. Not too big or chunky for drying racks but still strong .

Markenporzellan! Was soll man sagen. Schöne Teller, die auch nach mehreren Spülgängen noch ihre Farbe haben. Empfehlenswert!
