Stovall17F Wildlife Manger Feeder

We recently moved to the Northwoods Wisconsin, and purchased two of these feeders that we placed in a couple of different locations. Wow! We have had so many deer stopping by for a snack, as many as 5 or 6 at a time. I imagine there will be even more once winter sets in. We've had mostly does, but bucks are starting to show up now as well. What a beautiful sight to see! We use locally purchased deer corn, and the drainage screens on the bottom of the manger work well to drain off any moisture from rain/snow that accumulates. (Not that there's ever much corn left after the deer visit)The product is well made, a simple efficient design with a stake that secures it to the ground quite nicely. So unless you really enjoy spending time building your own, save yourself some time and buy these. This is a great product for the money.

quality lacking. wood cut incorectly, pieced together & not well, gaps. One side was not screwed in, because screw does not go all the way to hold correctly. Worth half the price. If the Box it came in was in good shape I would have sent it back. Not worth the hassle.

THIS IS THE ONE STOVALL PRODUCT THAT I HAVE FOUND DOESN'T WORK FOR ME. I SUPPOSE THAT IF I USED THE PRODUCT TO FEED LARGER ANIMALS, IT MIGHT. BUT, I LIVE IN FRONT OF A MEADOW, AND I REALLY HAVE NOT ATTRACTED LARGER ANIMALS, AND REALLY DON'T WANT TO, BECAUSE THEY PRESENT A DIFFERENT SET OF PROBLEMS, I.E. RACCOONS, OPOSSUM, FOXES, ETC., THAT I DON'T WANT TO DEAL WITH. DON'T GET ME WRONG THOUGH, LIKE ALL STOVALL PRODUCTS, THIS IS WELL MADE, ITS JUST NOT FOR EVERYONE.

arrived with one side falling off as wood was splintered apart and screws would just fall right out of the holes. I wanted to return and get another but when the other one came, the wood was splintered apart worse than the other one, and the screws did not stay in either. I did get one that was perfectly fine, and I like it. But beware, there is a piece of screen held in with screws on the bottom over two holes for drainage. Great idea, but the edges of the screen are very sharp, and if using this for a feeder would easily cut an animals mouth. For now I put a piece of strong tape over the screen and will try to fix this in the spring.

So glad it comes fully assembled. I like it has 2 screened sections for water to seep out - great feature. It is okay on sturdiness. Overall I like it - animals can tip it though, found mine tipped over this morning - hope it doesn’t break.

We have had an amazing amount of deer showing up to eat every day! I counted 10 at one time!! The feeder is very well constructed and the stake helps it remain standing, when we first put it in I was watching a deer eating from it and another deer came up suddenly. The first deer jumped and knocked against the feeder while running away. The feeder wobbled but did NOT fall over! I am VERY pleased with this and have sent the link to friends and neighbors who want to get one having seen how great it is!

Product came as described. Service was great. All the animals in our yard love it, birds, deer, rabbits (they get the stuff kicked on the ground), My husband says it is a good size so he only has to fill it once a day. I would recommend it to wildlife watchers. My only complaint are the holes drilled in the bottom for drainage. The wire mess supplied with the feeder has large holes and lets smaller grain go thru. I just added some fine window screening to it and it is working fine.

Ordered this March 2011 for my in laws as a present. We paid 37.99 prime. We bought a house in the woods recently and I decided I'd order the same one for my wife as it was relatively cheap. Pulled up our old order to reorder and saw now they want 165 dollars. Hilarious. It was hardly worth the 38 dollars then. It's basically just wood thrown together. I hope no one will be duped into paying the ridiculous price they are asking. Shameful.
