DOPO DMW-RS1 Timer Remote Shutter for Panasonic Lumix DMC- FZ20 FZ30 FZ50 LC1

This is a remote shutter release, and works as such on my Panasonic DMC-FZ30 camera. It is comparable in function to the Panasonic DMW-RS1 shutter release ($21 on Amazon) with the added capability of mechanically locking the shutter release in the ON position. This remote release appears to be well made, and if it were labeled only as a remote shutter release, without the word "timer" in the item name or description, I would give it 5 stars, especially considering the price.However, contrary to the impression given by the item name and description, this remote shutter release does not have an on-board programmable timer function. Perhaps that feature is available through some of the cameras listed as compatible, but this remote shutter release itself cannot be programmed for variable time delay, variable time exposure, or multiple exposures. Also, contrary to the item description, it does not have an LCD screen.It is worth noting that while $7 is a good price, Amazon lists similar remote shutter releases for Panasonic cameras at $0.01, plus shipping.
