warm!!!
Yup, it is as advertised. I purchased the Minus33 base layer shirt and pants for my recent ski trip and I was super happy with the comfort, neck style and warmth. The shirt is thicker than chili peppers but it is soft and very comfortable. the neck line is not too tight, allowing for your second layer to be the star (not your underwear). Finally, when I hit the slopes and the temps dipped into the 5-20degree F mark, I was happy, comfy and warm. On the third day, I tried my chili pepper since the temps had gone up and I was surprised to have a chill on legs for the first time. Minus33 is the way to go. A great base layer allows you to minimize bulk, have some style and not worry about getting cold. 5 stars all the way!

Great quality
I ordered two sets of these in size XS with the expectation that they would fit like a second skin. (I also have the Smartwool XS mid-weight base layers and the XS fits snugly but not tight.) The Minus33 base layers run a bit large so a size XS fits like a Small (size 4) in other base layer brands rather than a size 0-2. I think the extra room is fine if I were to wear these by themselves, possibly as sleep wear or lounge wear, or if I wear them under baggy ski pants, but I'm not sure they will wear well under dress slacks or leggings or skinny jeans because the extra fabric gets bunched up. I gave these 4 stars because they feel great, wash and wear great, and the colors are rich (the black is true dark black and not grey-black, and the red color is vibrant and beautiful). I am 5'3" and the length of the bottoms was fine for me, but more petite women may need to have the bottoms hemmed or else they will bunch up around the ankles. The crew neck top also runs a bit big for a size XS (the shoulders, torso). The length of the arms is fine - not too short, not too long. The wool is soft and doesn't itch. Also, the quality of the wool is nice and both the top and bottom pieces are well made.

Absolutely Impressed!
I purchased this Midweight Minus33 XXL top and the matching Minus33 Mindweight XXL bottoms a while ago for to take on a week long elk hunting trip into the great alpine wilderness of Eastern Washington. I knew it was going to be COLD up there and I am not someone that easily stays warm in the elements. Cutting wind, snow, ice, frigid rain... you never know what is happening next. I decided to save my review until after I'd put these to the test.I was looking for 100% wool base layers in something my size and was very pleased to find these, not only in my size, but made for a woman. Bless you, Minus33!! I've spent a lot of very cold, miserable winters wearing other "thermals" that either didn't help at all or made me sweat so much becuase they did not breathe that I was uncomfortable and froze anyway. They seem to be well made, I found no flaws in the initial "once over" nor after I put them on and wore them. I had no issue with the elastic as one person had reviewed. They wore well and laundered nicely... even in a bucket of ice cold stream water, being poked with a stick and hung over the camp stove to dry... if you can call that laundering. Both the top and bottoms came in the mail quickly, and when I tried them on, I was very pleasantly surprised. It was SO nice to put these on and have them fit so well. I am long through the body and tall, and these fit like they were custom cut for me. Stretchy and cozy, I was immediately happy. The crew top was long enough in the hem to fit my long body nicely and the sleeve was long enough that the cuffs actually came down to my wrists. The bottoms were also cut nicely, long enough for my long legs, fit me VERY well all around, perfect through the butt and crotch, waist line high enough to not worry about "cracking out" when I bend over, which has always been the price of having to wear men's thermals (not to mention no "front door" to have to sew shut!). The material did feel just a little bit itchy when I first yanked them out of the package and tried them on, but that went away after a gentle wash and dry.I can honestly say that these Minus33 100% wool, midweight base layers made all the difference in the world this last season. NEVER before have I been actually WARM when out in the elements for any length of time. The 5 mile hike up into camp in a foot of snow would have rendered me a sweaty, wet, frozen mess before but this time I was comfortable and toasty, even when we stopped to rest and cooled down. I had packed polar fleece thermals with me just in case these weren't enough, but those never made it out of the pack. I was so toasty in these, I often just wore them by themselves with a down vest for hiking around in, carrying my heavy outer wear in a back pack to put on over them when I got to where I would be sitting. They really proved their worth in the wet, too. One morning I slipped, lost my footing, and fell into the creek and had to hike back to camp just wearing them, carrying my outerwear and my gear. My boots were soaked but I was also wearing 100% wool socks. I wasn't exactly warm along the way but I wasn't frozen by the time I got to camp. My Dad was an ice fisherman and he always, ALWAYS wore his wool and told me that there was nothing better, especially if you ended up wet. I wish I'd have listened to him years ago, I wouldn't have spent so many winters shivering. These came home in great shape after a week of crawling around in the elements being worn constantly as under wear and as only wear. I literally lived in these things and wouldn't hesitate to buy another set. Thank you, Minus33 for an absolutely outstanding product.

Wonderful product!
Being a professional dog walker n Colorado, I spend a lot of time outside n very cold weather. Personally I've tried many different wool layers, Smartwool, WoolX, etc. Minus33 is my absolute favorite! It's so very soft, warm & incredibly comfortable! I love this shirt & plan to buy another. The fit is wonderful! I do believe it may run a tad large or just cut generous. Being a size 6, 34B bust I am normally a size small n most brands, although n WoolX I had to size up to a Medium. After reading reviews, I went w my normal size small, it was just a tad big to wear as a layer but perfect to wear as an outer shirt, my next purchase will b an X-small. For ref: I'm 5'5" 129lbs, 34B bust. This product washes extremely well, I wash on gentle & air dry. Have had no problems at all. Love Minus33!!! Don't understand how anyone can say this isn't the softest wool ever, its great!

I would never suspect I was wearing wool
I am thrilled that I can wear these without itching to death. There is a VERY slight itch, but I would never suspect I was wearing wool. They are extremely warm and did not have any unusual odor after wearing them for a week under clothes on a very cold vacation. I did originally order the medium which fit just a bit loose, which some may find desirable, like I would usually wear my shirts, but I wanted a more snug fit so returned for the small. I usually wear a medium and am 5'61/2" and weigh 125.

Worthy garment
I took this piece with me to Europe during the spring months and was so glad that I did. As a base garment under my tunic tops, I was able to endure some windy & chilly outdoor weather but still enjoyed my touring through Cliffs of Moher in Ireland and the dank rainy London weather. It was also easily washed in my hotel sink and ready for the next day's adventures. I true quality garment worth every penny.

Keeps you warm and good quality
I have been using it for about a year now on a regular basis, it’s still looking good, washed well and keeps its shape.

Great fabric - better sewing needed
Although I really love this shirt, as other reviewers have noted, the seams are coming apart. Fortunately for me - the hole is at the cuff so doesn't affect the functionality of the shirt. Despite the flaw, I came on here to consider purchasing another - because it's just that comfy and I thought perhaps my seam failure was a one-off. After reading other reviews, it appears to be a chronic issue. I won't pay $80+ for a shirt that seems to have a good likelihood of failing.

So perfect I bought another one!
I love this. I live in a part of Canada with cold winters and we do a lot of outdoor activities where getting cold or overheated can be awful. This is a perfect base layer or shirt. It is so comfortable and not itchy. It keeps me warm but wicks away any sweat and it resists odours. It is so perfect I am buying another one.
