Graphtech Guitar Top Nut (PT-6116-00)

I was recently needing to change the nut out on my ‘91 Les Paul Studio.I took a gamble on this one, hoping it would fit, and it did!Installations really easy (literally, just a few dabs of super glue) and my guitars buzzing and intonation issues were fixed!It’s apparently self-lubricating as well, so I feel like the overall tuning stability is better as well.Great low cost upgrade for your guitar!

Tremendous improvement over stock nut on Gretsch Electromatic Pro Jet. Really brought the tone to life. I was going to upgrade the pickups, but I'm good with stock for a while thanks to the new nut. If you take this nut and drop it in a ceramic mug it will make a pinging sound. The old nut sounded more like a thud because this new tusq is so much harder . . . Which is a good thing.Fit the Gretsch without any modification. Just a drop in replacement. I did have to shim it up a bit because it was not tall enough, but not an issue. No sanding was needed.String spacing a little wider which is not a bad thing. Still plenty of width on fretboard. Strings do not bind and make that ping sound when tuning.

The height and space was spot on. The only "rub" so to speak, is the strings still stick in the nut occasionally, despite the fact the headstock was designed to bring the strings in as straight as possible thru the nut. A little lube will fix it right up I'm sure, but one of the selling points for these is they don't stick. FYI

That's my first graphite nut. I was blown away! The only problem i have, it is hard to figure out the size that you need. Otherwise great product!

I installed a Stetsbar tremolo on my Les Paul Custom. I had two different luthiers install bone nuts and still I had tuning issues. I decided to take a crack at it myself and install a Graphtech Black Tusq XL (pre cut for Les Paul). I purchased the pre-slotted style as I have no experience in cutting nut slots or the proper tools to do so. There was a bit of sanding needed but I took my time and obtained a great fit. I did not have to make any adjustments to the nut slots themselves. I did have to sand the bottom to obtain the proper string height and the back/sides a bit to fit the nut into the nut slot on the fret board.This nut completely eliminated my binding and tuning problems. I think the key to success is don't rush and "check-fit" the nut many times so you attain a tight, solid fit.

I accidentally broke my Dean ML's nut, and I was frustrated at finding out how expensive it would be to fix it. I decided that I would seek out the possibilities of doing it myself. After looking at some online videos on how to repair it, I was disappointed because I did not have the proper tools to do it myself. I decided to check out Amazon to see if they were preslotted nuts that I could just place on my guitar, and they had them, the perfect fit too. I ordered it, it arrived with no problems, and it was in good shape too. All I had to do was sand it down to match the height of the previous one so that I would have a good action, then I just glued it on with wood glue. It works perfect, you can't even tel it has been replaced. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quick and affordable nut replacement!
