National Geographic Little Kids First Big Book of the Rain Forest

This is a fun book to read - you learn about the four different layers in the rainforest and there's lots of information about various animals that live in each of the different layers. There are lots of pictures to keep the kids entertained and the facts are interesting for toddler-age kids all the way for the adult that likely ends up reading it to the kids. The other books in this "series" are great too. I'd recommend this book and the "series".

I have purchased two of the National Geographic Little Kids First Big Books - this one and the ocean one. My 5 year old grandson loves learning and literally absorbed the information from the first book I purchased about the ocean and now is doing the same with the Rain Forest one. The pictures are colorful and engaging and the information is presented in an easily understood format for young inquisitive minds. He has read these books again and again and again!?!

This is a book that is great for young kids to grow with. Right now the baby and toddler are enjoying the beautiful pictures of the animals. Later.. I am sure they will enjoy the educational information about habitat and trivia about the animals.

Great book!Bought for my 4 years yr old grandson who loves animals & has recently been interested in the rainforest.Pictures are incredible! The descriptions are short but very detailed perfect for preschoolers & early readers!!Worth every penny!!

This book has proven to be the centerpiece of a study of rainforests that I am undertaking with my 5 y/o this fall. We have read the whole thing, cover to cover, and decided to transform our dining room that we use as a classroom into a rainforest. We are crafting and painting pictures of the animals she has chosen from the book, and before we hang each up, she writes a little sign in her own words about the animal/plant. The book has been the cornerstone of the whole project, and the photos have been wonderfully inspiring for our art projects. We definitely have used other books to help us along and go deeper, including In the Rainforest, by Kate Duke, which is also amazing. But this book was the perfect place to start, and when we move on to other subjects, I definitely plan to try to utilize other books in this series.

Got the entire set of books for my daughter and she loves them. Beautiful pictures and so much cool info about our world and everything in it. This is a must buy for any parent.

Every book we've purchased in this series ( 7 titles so far) has been a hit with my 4 year old! He likes for me to check Amazon often to see if another has come out.

Amazing book!! This book was so much nicer than I expected. Beautiful color photos and wonderful commentary. Definitely worth every penny. Highly recommend it!
