Poor documentation...flawless performance
I bought this device because I had 2 DirecTV receivers hooked up to the same TV and I had no other way to get them to work with UR MX-900.I am NOT a professional installer, but I am very technically proficient and I set up my entire home theater by myself.I thought the installation instructions were inaccurate. The manual says that if you are using only 1 receiver you can just plug it in with the headphone jack, but this is wrong. The receiver needs to be powered so I had to use the wire that you screwed onto the RF inputs. After I did that everything worked flawlessly!Since I programmed my remote the first time I knew exactly where to go in to program to adjust the RF/IR for the devices.I am very happy with this device and it has exceeded all of my expectations. I DO NOT recommend this for the novice, but if you can program the remote control by yourself this is a piece of cake.

Device works as described. Hard to love, what amounts to a repeater, but it works well.
Device works as described. Hard to love, what amounts to a repeater, but it works well. If you have your devices in a hidden enclosure this could be the product for you. My installer warned against buying the cheaper version of the product.

No antenna included.
Note that is just the power unit and does not include the antenna needed to work directly with a remote.

Tech support is incredible
Easy to switch out once they go bad.

Not unless you have a bottomless bank account.
Understand when you buy this that is is ONLY compatible with URC brand remotes. Then understand that the only way you can make your URC brand remote into anything more than a paperweight is to pay a URC certified technician a minimum of $100 to program it for you. A year later you add a new component? $100 for a technician to add it for you.

Requires Pro Installer
The base station, along with the mx850 remote, require the services of a professional installer unless your do-it-yourself skills are exceptionally advanced.
