Just like what the speech therapist does with my mom
My Mom's speech therapist recommended this book and it's a lot like what she does with my Mom. It's a really good book for someone with memory issues or dementia.

Great series!
Ordered two of these books for my husband who has dementia. They are perfect for him and somewhat challenging.

Very very easy. I gave it away hoping it will go to good use. My mother would have been upset if I gave this to her. The review I read before I bought it said it was too easy, but I tried it anyway. There might be someone that can use it. My heart goes out to them and their care giver. But anything to work ones mind at any level of dementia is a joy to all involved.

Excellent source to engage conversation.
This is a great book for engaging elderly in conversation and it brings back memories. I use it often in my senior care.

LOVE this book.
My 87 year old grandmother with dementia can no longer read (vision problems) or write (shakiy hands) on her own, but I read the exercises out loud to her and fill out the answers she gives. I even make notes as to any prompts I might have added to help her out if she was struggling with an answer and I note the date so that I can keep track of any progression or deterioration. They really get her mind working. She seems to really enjoy them. She gets excited when she finds the answers and asks me how she did at the end of each activity. Sometimes it makes her think of stories that associate with the topics and we really get to talking. We often work on them over breakfast, take the book with us to waiting rooms, or use it to fill that lull in the afternoon to try to keep her mind moving straight through the "sundowning" and distract her a bit. I wish there were more books like this at this level.

Dad enjoyed it!
My dad has dementia, as his Father had before him. Dad always wanted to do what he could to help keep his mind working as well as it could. So, I bought him this book. When it arrived, it didn't look like a lot of fun to me, but I gave it to him in case he might find it interesting. He worked hard on answering the questions, kept himself busy for several hours, by itself a victory, and proudly announced he had followed the suggestion to write the answers in pencil so he could erase his answers and try again next week. My sister told me there were many inaccuracies, but he had enjoyed trying to help himself.

Fun and helpful.
Using this with my 96 yr. old dad. He is getting a little forgetful but he seems to enjoy using these "games" to give his brain a little "stretch". Several of the exercises/questions are focused toward the senior generation.

Condescending to the elderly - they are elderly, not stupid.
If I could score a zero I would. This book is condescending to elderly people. My mother is elderly - not stupid. There is no way I could give her such a book - embarrasing for me that I chose such an awful book, and upsetting for my mother by asking her such childish questions. Definately do no buy this book as it is a complete was of money and will cause offence.

Children could do these. My grandad is not a child. He has early onset Alzheimer's.

Too easy !
Was bought for my 90 year old Mom who has dementia . She didn't like it at all , found it way to childish and even felt a bit insulted to think that she would find this challenging . Right now she put it in a drawer and might try looking at it again in 6 months.
