Rock Band - Game Only (PS2)

I have been playing Guitar Hero for some time now, so when I saw Rock Band I thought it would be fun. I currently use the Kramer guitar I got with Guitar Hero 3, and it works a treat on Rock Band.Most of the songs on here are very well known, which is a relief if you're really not a big rocker, like myself. I really enjoyed playing Nirvana's In Bloom, The Killers anthem When You Were Young and The Beastie Boys' Sabotage, which is still one of my favourite crossover tracks.The gameplay is a bit simple in easy mode though, and with my dexterity I find medium a bit tricky (finding it hard to reach for the blue and orange keys) - so I managed to complete Rock Band in around an hour in easy mode, getting mainly 97% and not having to replay a single track. I didn't mind that, but I think it could have been trickier like Guitar Hero, it took some time to complete in easy mode.The graphics are better than GH in my opinion, but I did notice the videos were a bit spotty, this doesn't affect the bar which shows you how to play the song though, so I'm certain it's not my equipment causing it. I do think it looks great on the PS2 though.This is a good game, with 61 tracks (half you have to unlock) available and varied with non-English speaking tracks this makes it a good alternative to Rock Band. Just wish it was harder in easy mode, I guess I will just have to practice more in medium to get used to the other keys.Worth getting.

I've played the Guitar Hero games and the balance of skill level and enjoyability in those games is perfect.Rock Band on either bass or lead guitar is a lot easier than Guitar Hero [any of them], as I got through the entire song list in Hard without failing a single song. In the Guitar Hero games, Hard really does mean Hard; and Expert means impossible unless you really learn the song.As for the drums, Medium feels as it should - I can easily fail a few songs on Medium first time, so they've gotten the skill level just right. And Hard is as it should be. I'm awful on vocals, so I can't really judge that LOL.But Rock Band is, of course, a very playable game - but I find it far more boring than the Guitar Hero games because of how easy it is on guitar. However, on multi-player mode, it becomes far more enjoyable - especially if you can find friends who prefer the instruments that you don't want to play.I give an overall rating of 3 stars because, inevitably, I find myself going back to the Guitar Hero series; except for when my friends come over for a jam on Rock Star.

Saw guitar hero advertised, but a little pricey so went for Rockband for ps2 instead. I have 2 children (12&14) and didn't know what to get them for christmas, so thought this would be a fun family game - and guess what? It is brilliant. Got it out pre-christmas to check if it was working properly and we were on it for 2 1/2 hrs! Kids wanted more but I had to wrap it up. You can have solo, two, three or four players. ( you would need to buy an extra instrument) as Rockband comes with microphone, drums and 1 guitar. Don't know many of the songs but you quickly learn them and you can unlock other songs. Am hunting for cd with songs I might know on them. would highly recommend if you want loads of fun.

You can really get drawn into this game! Hours and hours of trying to hit the correct colours is so much fun! And this also has many good songs, some very good classics that really rock. Some of the songs are not so familiar, but they go with the flow.The only big problem in the game is, that there is no guide to help you understand the logic of the game. We spent many hours just wondering how to get more songs to play. Guide for the simple minds, please!

Rock Band is a brill game for the whole family especially if you get the whole band in the box. I got it for me and my brother and my sister and we play it nearly everyday. I had played it before on Xbox round a mates house and i fell in love with it. When i played it on PS2 i found that you can't choose band members or create and personlize new ones but its good all the same. If your into rock music its a must have!! It also came within 2 days of ordering so great delivery!!

this game is great fun and so easy to use that's when I can have a go,have a 26 month old little lad that won't even let me get near it he loves it that much lol

Was listed as "very good" condition however has long loading times and many songs cause the game to lag so hard that they no longer work, this makes around 60 percent of the songs in the game not work.

The game was great my niece n nephew was so chuffed
