Fun World Women's Southern Belle Costume

When you get this dress it will seem totally lame. It feels pretty cheap and is all twirled into the bag. Take it out, put it on a hanger and help it fall out. The underneath is made out of a shower curtain like material which again, seems lame but really holds it all together over the hoops (which work and aren't too bad to get around in). The material over the top is nice. In reality you can definitely make this work by letting it settle and embelishing it with other layers. A lacy top underneath, gloves, more authentic looking things and this dress turns pretty awesome. I had about 8 layers and the outfit rocked. Totally worth the $ considering. PS- the 'hat' is sort of ridiculous. I didn't wear it.

I was not going to buy this costume because most of the reviews were horrible, but my daughter insisted. I was not expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised. It's not nearly as bad as people said. My daughter is 12 and 5'4 and the women's small fit perfectly. It's perfect in length as well. It's just fine for trick or treating and the bell bottom is very big and sturdy. The hat is tan as I think it's supposed to represent a straw hat. It's not super great quality, but it's a low priced costume. My daughter loves it. :)

Keep in mind that you are buying a costume. The materials are cheap like the other reviewers say, but the price is cheap and it is perfect for a one-night costume. I will be wearing it in a silly stage show. To agree with other commenters: Let it sit out hanging a bit before use, because it has been all folded up for shipping. The hat is yellow and doesn't match very well, and the sash kind of sits in an awkward position, but it'll do for my purposes.

I should have looked through the reviews better before purchasing. The dress is nothing like the picture and is nothing more than some tulle pinned to a shower curtain. We bought this for a high school play but will be returning it. It was so see through that I'm not sure much could have been done to remedy it and the shower curtain like material used in the skirt was a joke. I thought about trying to make it work but it would have been so noisy with even the slightest movement. I originally thought it would be a great deal but it was one of the worst Amazon purchases I have ever made and a great reminder to read through the reviews before purchasing!

I read a lot of negative reviews about the quality, size, etc. I guess I was just lucky because the size was right for me and yes, the material isn't a of super high quality, but you are also paying very little for this. I actually got a lot of compliments on the dress. Definitely good for Halloween purposes. I did take off one star cuz the hat was really weird looking. I didn't use it. I did buy separately some lace white gloves and a lace parasol. beautiful all together.

It is what it is! It was perfect for my 5th grader and her dance. She totally looked like scarlet for 1/3 of the price of a "real" dress. It did remind us of a shower curtain, and the hat was silly, but it worked for what we needed it for. We cut the green ribbon off the hat and used it for 2 hair bows like scarlet had pulled up on top. It was perfect.

I feel like I have been lied to. When I received this costume I pulled out the dress and tried it on. The dress came to my knees!! I was very upset. Immediately I went to get the dress package to see if I had accidentally ordered a child's. I had ordered the correct size, it was just a fraud. In the picture it came to the models feet. It said the model was 5'6. I am a small framed 5'5, and I ordered a large/medium (the largest size they had)! It also said on the package a hat was included. I did not receive a hat in the package. This company has a bad mark with me. I will NEVER use this dishonest company again. NEVER! I tried contacting them so I could return this item 2 days ago. I haven't heard anything back from them. Big surprise!

I bought this for my 10 year old (4,11") It does not go all the way to the floor as expected. It is also very cheap made and the skirt part is like a plastic table cloth. The top is see through. It is for dress up, and the price was right. It had a rip in it when it arrived but since it was a Christmas gift I chose not to return. It will serve its purpose.
