Can you keep it on warm setting for an indefinite amount of time, or will it shut off automatically after say 12 hours?

Indefinite amount of time, although with this Chinese made one, the vent is different (cheaper looking) and after a day your rice will start to smell. If you plan to keep warm for more than 12 hours I recommend purchasing Japanese made (model starting with JPN).

Is this rice cooker made in Japan or America?

Mine was made in Japan, maybe others got a knockoff?

What is the difference between jnp-1000fl & jaz-a10u-fh?

The Tiger JNP-1000-FL 5.5-Cup (Uncooked) Rice Cooker and Warmer, Floral White is made in the Japan factory and many people say it is made better. The Tiger JAZ-A10U-FH 5.5-Cup (Uncooked) Rice Cooker and Warmer with Steam Basket, Floral White is made in Tiger's China factory. I personally have not had an issues with the less expensive one.
