Went for the more natural look
I love how it turned out.! The product was easy to use, the finish looks great but the smell was still strong. Maybe compared to the non plant based it’s not horrible. I would recommend!

Decent product
The product went on easily, however the coverage is a bit less than described in the add. You also need two coats. If it lasts for 10 plus years then it is a bargain, of not, then it is over priced.

So far I love it
I have wooden planter beds and shelves that are unfinished, also bird houses. I started out testing this on a birdhouse that fell apart, unfinished wood. After that, I was confident with it, and so far have it on a multi-tiered raised bed that's about 5 feet x 3 feet, and slatted plant shelves, one month now. It's easy enough to apply, doesn't feel too oily, so it applies nicely, very low odor. For my applications, I didn't have too much that needed to be wiped off after an hour of waiting for first coat, thirsty wood I suppose. For me, the best thing is that this plant based and safe for us, birds, plants. I applied mine with a microfiber cloth, which are disposable, but seemed to rinse okay anyway. A pleasure to work with. Will update if something horrible happens, but I doubt that will happen.

Natural option to protect exterior wood
I appreciate that a natural alternative for protecting exterior woods is available. This product has a semi thick consistency that should brush on and protect well but time will be the true measure of its durability. It’s spread right is 400 ft.² per gallon and recommends two coats. Initial application was easy just remember to apply in the direction of the woodgrain.

nice alternative to oil based stuff
This product is both reviewed and not reviewed. Let me explain. A product like this really cant be tested without years of time to see if it works. So in that regard, I have not had time to test it to see how well it protects the wood. That said, I have applied the product and it works much like other preservatives that I have used. Easy to brush on (or soak an end in) and easy to clean up. So I think this will work well but time will tell. I am using it on some wood that has direct ground contact and some that is just exposed to the rain. We get a lot of rain so it will be pretty clear in a few years of this works.

Good protectant stain
This seems to be a good eco friendly option for serious staining protection. I had to use two coats. We applied this just on our pool deck area. Not a lot of square footage on the deck, and the stain didn’t seem to go far. Time will tell how well it holds up, but it seems to work. A good pet friendly, environmentally friendly stain option.

This is a no buy.
I finished about 40’ of fishing pier deck with “seal it green” then 2 hours later an unexpected rain storm hit. Went out next day, surface was sticky and stayed that way for at least a month. I guess it’s because seal it green wasn’t hard when rains came. Update October 2025. This should be a no buy. The wood looks like it had never been treated.

The product is expensive but worth it. It is all natural, even has a fruity smell. Even the second coat was dry in an hour. No stickiness. We were able to do 9 steps and the side rails with some product left over. Brings out the grain in the wood too.

Spent days cleaning and preparing the deck hoping to finally put this project to bed today, only to run out of the wood sealer BEFORE finishing the first coat. Really frustrating. I bought a gallon which boasts approximately 400 sq ft of coverage and 2 coats are recommended. My deck is 288 sq feet and 2 x 16 of that is still bare. Grrr.
