I re-read it before going to see the play in London in November! It doesn’t disappoint as a fan of AC

I've longed to see this play for many decades because of its reputation. When I found out it was available in book form, I was excited and ordered it immediately. I read the first half three times, wanting to make sure I got everything down before I progressed to the end. Yes, it's a surprise ending. I didn't see it coming. But I don't want to spoil it for anyone.One note: I think the play is available to view online. I haven't seen it; I'm glad I read it. That way, I was able to go back and reread certain parts.

Great book

As The Mousetrap completed my full collection of the fiction murder mysteries series by Agatha Christie, I am will say that this latest addition lived up to all of my expectations.Although the book consists of only short stories, I am happy to report that they are written with as much mystery, danger and suspense as all of the author's much longer novels, as with all of Agatha Christie's books once I started to read The Mousetrap Ifound it very hard to put the book down, so consequently I did not get much sleep from commencement to end of this book.I really do not have much more to say as I love all of this author's writings and I can honestly say that I cannot think of any negativethings to comment on in The Mousetrap.

There's a reason this is the longest running play in the world. The classic whodunit by the queen of murder mysteries, Agatha Christie, is an engaging read. If you have not read this play, do it. You won't be disappointed. If you have the opportunity, see it live on stage!

I enjoyed it all. Would like to see the play

This is not a book of Miss Christie's plays, it is only synopsis of several of her better known ones. Not what I was led to believe at all.

This is a play that Agatha Christie wrote and it is a mystery. The local theater here in Hanover PA is going to present it next month and I wanted to read it so I have an idea of what was gonna happen. Anyone who likes Agatha Christie I would definitely recommend reading this.

Non solo il testo ma anche tutti i dettagli scenici e i movimenti degli attori e l'arredamento. Non facile staccarsi dalla lettura. Una perla, senza le solite ripetizioni sui soliti personaggi. Chi non lo ha visto a teatro può vivere (quasi) la stessa esperienza. Come è d'obbligo bisognerebbe sospettare sempre di chiunque, a cominciare dai tipi più antipatici (spoiler? No, sarebbe.. un delitto!)

Der Verstand ging schnell und das Produkt ist unversehrt bei mir angekommen.Bestellt habe ich es, da wir es im Unterricht gelesen und damit gearbeitet haben.Die Story spielt in Monkswell Manor (England), außerhalb von London. Die Gasthaus, der Mittelpunkt der Story, wird zugeschneit. Es ist gibt keine Möglichkeit das Haus zu verlassen. Unter den eingeschlossenen Personen im Haus ist ein Mörder, welcher entlarvt werden soll. Dabei passiert unvorhergesehenes.Das Buch ist eine abwechsungsreiche kurze Geschichte. Die englischen Wörter sind nicht all zu schwer zu verstehen und einige sind auch am Ende jeder Seite übersetzt. Das erleichtert das Leseverständnis zusätzlich.Von mir eine klare Kaufempfehlung für den Unterricht oder wer sein Leseverständnis trainieren möchte.Mfg. M.D.

Un placer releer esta obra que marcó un récord de permanencia en su teatro en Londres, de gran éxito también en Ciudad de México y proximamente se podrá ver en Broadway. Lectura muy recomendable para seguir admirando a Agatha Christie.

Ich habe das Theaterstück im Londoner St. Martin's Theatre gesehen (wirklich empfehlenswert) und obwohl der englischen Sprache einigermaßen mächtig, hatte ich bei der Aufführung viele Dialoge und Redewendungen nicht verstanden. Bei der Lektüre dieses Buches wurde mir schnell klar, warum das so war. Ich kannte viele der Begriffe und Redewendungen nicht, die in dem Stück verwendet werden und im Buch kann man die Geschichte mit Regieanweisungen nochmal nachlesen und bekommt darüberhinaus die Bedeutung erklärt, teilweise sogar in deutsch. Beispiel: "To make a go" bedeutet, ein Geschäft oder Vertrag abzuschließen. Es war daher nicht nur lehrreich, sondern auch unterhaltsam, weil man über so manche Szene nochmal schmunzeln konnte. Auch erschließt sich einem die schriftstellerische Qualität von Christie im englischen Originaltext auf besondere Weise. Daher bekommt das Buch von mir runde 5 Sterne.

...eine wunderbare Stimmung, klassischer Krimi, flüssig geschrieben und interessante, spannende Dialoge, spannende Handlung, man kann sich die Personen sehr gut vorstellen. Ein Meisterwerk von Agatha Christie...zu Handlung und Ablauf sollte man am besten nichts verraten, das nimmt die Spannung und verhilft dem Theaterstück auch noch weitere 60 Jahre auf der Bühne gespielt zu werden. Eine Tasse Tee, eine warme Decke und das Licht ein wenig abdunkeln, dazu vor dem Lesen kurz den Kinderreim anhören...
