Conflicting information
There was some good and useful information however, the heavy emphasis on dairy was concerning, as well as the introduction of certain ideas without elaborating further. It's a good place to start your research but I would definitely dig deeper.

The book of life
There are so many diseases out there that someone can hardly keep score of them. Almost everyone I know suffers from something. My friends and family are insomniacs, catatonics, stressed, under or over nourished and whatever else comes to mind. And so am I. I mean I also suffer from a disease. When I was first diagnosed I thought that the doctor said I was a hypochondriac, but I was not, I simple suffered from hypothyroidism. This disease is not a rare one as it affects up to 5% of the world's population, and it can be caused by different things, and it can affect different organs. The first time that I felt one of its symptoms hitting me I thought I had a heart attack. I could have, but I'm glad that wasn't the case. It was what led me to the doctor though, and from that day onwards my life was to change forever. In what ways? Well, for starters, I couldn't go on living my life as if I was invincible. The days of doing whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted it, and eating everything that came my way, have reached an end. Now `precaution' became the word of the day. I had to be careful with everything, not to take my health for granted, change my diet and try to adapt to a different way of life.I'll be honest, it wasn't so easy for me to change my habits, and that's why I kept on searching, looking for alternative ways to lead my life, without missing on the fun of it, and that's how I ended up with this guide. As my illness became my obsession it led me to a new discovery. I thought I was blessed when I found this book, not only because it explained my disease but mostly because it showed me a different path; a path that would be no less difficult for me to follow but which was paved all the way. Whatever I needed to know was within these pages; whatever I had to do was also here. Heal the natural way? That's the best way to do it, isn't it? Have a healthy diet? Easy to say but hard to do, unless someone explains everything to you in detail, as the author does. Exercise? That's not really difficult, once you set your mind on it.I don't like to exaggerate but I just have to say that this book may very well have saved me from myself. I'm one of those people who, once in a while, and when the going gets tough, tend to give up. This guide gave me the confidence that I needed to keep on fighting, it kept me on the right track, and for that I'm grateful. If someone asked me to describe it I'd say that for me "This is the book of life". If you suffer from hypothyroidism or know somebody else who does then this is the book for you.

Can't get past the editing
I started to read this book with an open mind. About two-thirds of the way through, it seemed that much of the content transitioned to filler (repetition of previously stated material), and the phrasing/editing began to sound as if the author's first language was not English. Examples: "Begin by organizing the stuffs on your workstation." "Start your day with your endorphins coming off your body." "Plan your meals ahead of time so that chances of missing a meal or eating a wrong meal are minimized." I'm not sure what a "wrong meal" is, but I stopped reading there. I am not expecting the ultimate authoritative expert on hypothyroidism in one book. But if I am going to research numerous sources and alter my diet due to a health issue, I am less than confident in a book like this. I chose another book on Amazon on this subject, and was satisfied with it as a reference. Suggest you browse other titles on this subject.

A must read for Hypothyroid sufferer
I have never written any praise to any product. In short this little book packs a lot of 'how to' in very short form and not confusing.I have long suffered from Hypothyroidism, 22 years. Doctors put me on Synthroid then Levothyroxin always with the promise, you will start losing weight now. Mind you I started out on HRT for 7 years and that did my Thyroid in. Now I get these pills to take every day. Cholesterol out of bounce, problems with Statins and so on and so on!Now on Medicare and a new Doctor who did not want to renew my prescription for Levothyroxin without a new test, I had to travel to Europe for a month.Already I had stopped taken the statin, because my body ached from that, so off to Europe with not any Meds! Low and behold I did not drop dead, my body aches where minimal, but I gained 8 pounds in a month. I have time to research!I came across the little book. I changed my diet that instant, she does not recomment that, but I knew that all the foods she is writing about are good for healing. I just did not have a comprehensive guide. This is it!Within 2 days my head cleared, little secret, I started juicing to get all the vegies and fruits she recommends. Sleeping well after a week and I acually started sweating at my 1 mile treadmill walk. This book inspired me to do more research, I am now on NDT, which was needed. But I only found that out thru following the food guide lines in this book. With the lifestyle change and Thyroid S I have lost 10 pounds in 2 month, have energy and when I see that Doctor in a month or so I will ask for Armour. This little book gave me my life back, all it takes eating the right foods and taking charge of my own health. I am still not good with my cholesterol, but I am working on that. All I can hope the readers follow the guidelines of food intake and have the same great result. As of this writing I am 2 month on my new lifestyle and feel better every day, Thank you Caroline Greene and the Thyroid Diet Support Group!!!

Easy to read book
This book is not overly big so it is easy to take with you for a good read and further references. I follow most of the dietary guidelinesdefinitely avoid everything soy almost completely. I say almost as so much of our food chain is contaminated with soy. Palm oil is another I avoid, plus all the polyunsaturated, hydrogenated oils of margarines. Now rarely eating bread and most grains. I do however have a few legumes. I love my fruits and fresh veges, a little meat, avoiding anything with growth hormones wherever possible. In general I do not get as tired, have a few supplements, generally I feel well & do not take any medication.I would recommend this book. I also recommend reading a cross section of books on the topic, such as the following. Also Your Thyroid & how to keep it healthy by Barry Durrant-Peatfield, also Stop the Thyroid Madness; by Janie A Bowthorpe.

Full of useful information
This is a great publication on the topic offering very precise and detailed information on the exact diet, exercise and supplementation to deal with hypothyroidism. It is not long and very much to the point, stating the facts rather than the author's personal opinion. I have read this book in one evening and implemented the changes to my lifestyle the very next day. I am already reaping the benefits - my weight has started to drop off (something I have been unable to achieve before) and I have lots more energy. I highly recommend this if you are looking for a sensible approach to tackling your condition.

urgh!
Badly written, makes too many assumptions. Not a good buy. I was very disappointed with this book. There are much better ones out there.

Good book but need caution when apply some advice
This book on hypothyroidism is interesting, straight forward, goes to the point hence I bought her another book on diet for hypothyroidism . But I found various contradiction which reduces the credibility of her booksFor example, This book say advoid tofu, pineapple; increase coffee.the other book has recipes with tofu and pineapple. She also advises reducing coffee and using decaff etc. There are also some advice that are not supported informatively and reasonably, such as she advises to stay away from oily fish while omega3 is very beneficial to treat numerous disease relating to hypothyroidism.I will apply her commonsense advices but be selective on some odd ones
