High quality without the HIGH price.
A great substitute for the GoPro at an unbeatable price. There are many versions of the SJ4000 bouncing around on Amazon and I chose this one for all the accessories, as well as a spare battery. Following the advice of other reviews, I went ahead and purchased a new SD card as well and to date, have not actually tried the one supplied with this camera. The quality of video is much better than expected for such a low price. I have made several videos using Adobe video processing software. You can use proprietary software such as windows movie maker just as easily. The camera itself does not really have an anti-shake which can take away from some of your recording, if you don't compensate for it. Before you buy, get on youtube and check out the full reviews of this camera in comparison to others in the same category.Bottom line, if you are looking for an action camera that doesn't carry the price tag of a GoPro, then this is your baby.

real or fake sj4000? and is it as good as or better than go pro 3s ? better buy?
After doing some extensive research I found out there is fake sj4000 and real sj4000.So far this looks to be the real deal. Google or YouTube search fake sj4000vs real etc.I will update my post later today when I get it and tell you if it's worth buying or going with a go pro 3..I also have seen video quality on YouTube of these but it looks like the people was using the fake one instead of real sj4000 in the comparison video so check back Monday night n I'll have answers for ya

Great device and fast shipping, Only minor problems.
I received my product in 2 days thanks to amazon prime. The product comes with 2 batteries and an 8 gig Micro SD card. When i first tried the device i kept getting a "card Error" or "Insert Card" message. I was very worried and thought i may have received a defective device, so i went to the store and picked up a 16 gig micro SD card and this solved the problem. Make sure that if you get a new SD card that it is at least a Class 6 or higher; most of the ones at my local walmart were class 4. So i had to spend about 19 dollars to get a class 10 16 Gig. So in total i spent 79 dollars on this unit but the quality of videos and images is great.

GoPro Killer!
If all you want is good quality HD Audio/Video from an action camera, regardless of where you mount it, this is the camera for you!The test drive for me was to use it on my bike on a track day, on several different positions on the bike, and it worked flawlessly! Great quality of audio/video, no vibration, noise whatsoever - Really clear picture. Here is my executive summary, in case you don't want to go over the details below: I'm selling my GoPro Hero 3 and buying 2 or 3 more of these cameras!!If you bother to know why, here is why:Features wise, it has what I need - I do have a GoPro which I paid literally 4 x the price and it does the exact same job to me - Actually, I would rather have this one here as it comes with the back LCD dashboard, versus the GoPro Hero 3 that I have which doesn't and I would need to pay an extra $100 bucks to have it... The LCD is likely a contributor to a shorter battery life (if compared to a GoPro) and I will say this is only disadvantage I noticed so far, but even so it's not that bad - I had it running for close to 3 full sessions (1h or so) until I needed to change the battery. My advice to anybody is that if you're not going to use any of the "super critical" extra features that a GoPro comes equipped with, there is no need to spend that much - This camera does the job and it does it very well! Or, if you just don't care because you do have the budget for a GoPro, just go ahead and buy 4 of these cameras and create your videos with multiple sources - It's a lot of fun too!

Use it professionally
No need to recap the product description, you can read everything that comes with it. Let's just say there is more than enough included in the box to have you shooting video the same day it's delivered. What I can help you with is this. I work in television and shoot broadcast video for the news every day. This little camera has made its debut on our air and then some. The HD video quality is excellent. Obviously it's capturing in a very wide angle, fish-eye, style but even that can be fixed in editing if you need something more "typical" in your story.Add it to a little tripod (or one of the dozens of adapters) and you're shooting steady, quality video in a flash.I see people have had issues using the SD Micro card that comes included. Try to "format" the disk in the menu and see if that helps. Either way, you should try to get a higher class, larger space card (i.e. Class 10 32gb SanDisk card) for better, longer and improved recording. The digital zoom destroys video quality, so you're better off shooting with its standard zoom setting and using your edit software to zoom in as necessary.Audio is decent, just what you likely expect from a camera like this. When in the case, the audio is non-existent so keep that in mind. Depends on what you need.Enough rambling. If you are interested in the sports camera platform and don't want to shell the type of money that gets you the brand we all know, you can't go wrong with this product. I wish Amazon was cooperating so I could upload some broadcast video examples, but I see other reviewers have video links.

Worked great until the zoom button broke internally. Returning for a new one.
Quality and price are great along with having an LCD in the back of it unlike the $350+ GoPro (which i also own). Unfortunately within using it a few times and having less than an hour of recorded video the zoom button has broken internally so whenever im recording it zooms to 4X rendering it useless. Going to return for another, hopefully this one is better quality because I was very happy with this camera when it was working. If the next one doesnt break ill give it a 5 star.

Trial and Error
I posted earlier that the battery needs to be charged and the 8GB micro card requires formatting before you can use the menu. I was getting "memory error" even after reformatting the card. I can't be sure but I think the micro card is not working properly and/or the memory isn't over-writing when full. Either case, I have since then starting using a different micro card that is 32GB. I would recommend a troubleshooting section.
