Beautiful, durable, bright but req. time to put together
I loved the 1st one so much that I bought another one. It is so spectacular that we don't feel we need to decorate the rest of our house with xmas lights like we used to do. It's also a great way to mark your house or differentiate it from others. When we have guests who have never been to our house, for example, we just tell them to "look for the star."This is the 2cd star I bought. The first lasted 3 years of continual use, outdoors in the Pacific NW. Here, we get snow maybe once or twice a year, we have hot (but not Texas-hot) summers & it rains for 8 months (not kidding). Thus, it surprised me the star lasted as long as it did. It may have lasted longer except when I took it down, it fell 12 feet onto the sidewalk and a few pieces broke off.The first star had a kind of inner structure that you attached each of the star's "rays" to. It was easier to assemble, BUT it was pretty rigid/inflexible. This 2cd version requires maybe 15 minutes to assemble (because some of the parts are small), BUT it is more flexible. What I mean is: if you drop it or it gets stuck between things, it is less likely to break. I don't know yet if the small parts will endure several years of outdoor use, but my sense is that they will.I love the star so much I can't take it down after the New Year...

Absolutely beautiful
Had a very old one. Bethel star I call it. Loved my okd one. Still do. But this one is bigger and brighter. Beautiful hanging off my porch. Easy to install. Seems to lock and hold in place. Will be buying another one before next Christmas

Beautiful addition to Christmas lights
Beautiful, bright, lightweight, and easy to hang from overhead light fixture with socket outlet adapter. Took an hour to assemble, but if you follow directions, is well worth the time!

These worked out perfectly as toppers for my modern Christmas trees
I really loved how these modern looking Moravian stars worked with my DIY modern Christmas trees. They were perfect in terms of size and I love the modern geometric appearance. However, I wasn't a big fan of the pegs that serve as pins to construct the star which gives it its overall shape. They were too visible so I altered the star a bit by painting on some clear crafting adhesive and then applied some iridescent chunky glitter/confetti to help hide them. I really like the overall look a LOT.As you can see, I also altered these in a way to make them suitable as tree star toppers. I carefully drilled four holes onto each side of the bottom point and then threaded floral wire through them in order to hold a much thicker heavier gauge wire that I used to attach to my actual trees. You can sort of see the thick wire running up the length of the bottom spike of the star. I was in a rush and wanted to paint them white to hide them better. But I ran out of time. But at least here for my review it makes for a better visual in terms of what I actually did. I have some video footage I took when constructing/altering these stars. Maybe I'll be able to provide a short video here in case anyone here might want to do the same. I kinda invented the concept and had no idea what I was doing but thankfully it worked out perfectly with no problems. As quite a few people here said, this star has to be put together. Upon first glance, it looks like a very daunting task. There really are no clear instructions. But since I work with my hands a lot and am in construction I was able to put one star together in about fifteen minutes.CON: The one downside is that once these are constructed you are not going to want to disassemble them as it's too difficult and you risk damaging the star to the point of it being unusable. One portion of my star cracked where a peg/pin holds it in place. This happened before I even attempted to alter them in any way so the damage had nothing to do with my efforts as far as that's concerned. But thankfully it's toward the top and not associated with any weightbearing portion of the star. I applied some craft glue to the area to hold it together so hopefully it'll hold up.Secondly, since I will not attempt to disassemble these and since they will only serve as Christmas decorations I will have to find a large box to protect and store them. Of course, if this is not the case with you and you keep this up all year then it won't be an issue.Thirdly, unlike the 18" Elf collapsible (which is also easier to store due to being able to be folded it flat), the light bulb inside for this 21" version doesn't have a harness or holster to securely hold the light bulb in place. After I assembled my two stars and did all the altering that I mentioned above and set them atop my trees I could tell that with one the bulb was leaning over to one side and it was lighting the star in an asymmetric, uneven way. It really got on my nerves. Eventually I decided to take it down and dissemble a portion of it to shorten the cord and center the light inside better. With the 18" version of this Elf Moravian star there is a nice holster to securely hold the light. But I do like the more geometric and larger shape of this 21' version so much better.Lastly, I hope these stars hold up. The plastic can be quite brittle. My storage area for holiday decorations is not in a temperature controlled environment. It can get to 122 degrees in the summer. I just hope this star holds up and gives me many hears of enjoyment. I'm only taking off one star because of the brittleness and lack of light bulb holster for the inside. Also, I think $40 for something you have to assemble yourself and that is quite brittle is a bit overpriced. I think $25-30 would be a fairer price.

DAMAGED upon receipt
DAMAGED upon receipt (Elf Logic box). Packaged poorly resulting in damage. Star point sticking through the box. Many branches of the star broken (shattered plastic). Unfortunately, had no choice but to build and hang for my event. I would have returned the item otherwise. I must say, even with the broken pieces....it is beautiful. Advice, order early to allow yourself time to return if damaged!!

Star that lasts
This is my 2nd one. Had the first one for 10+ years. So far, I like the new design. Took about 10 minutes to put together, while watching tv. Not a big deal. Instructions a little confusing, better to use your own intuition.Last design had the spikes inserted into a plastic ball… but the plastic clips on the ball kept breaking. over time, too many broke & tape didn’t hold them.I think this design is better, with less breakable parts. It’s nice & bright.I purchased 2 other kinds by same manufacturer but sent them back as they would work indoors, (much easier to put together & store) but would not be tolerate cold & wet weather.Fir my application, the hard plastic holds up and glad I made the exchange.

NOT A “WARM” LED
This is nice enough, seems sturdy, kind of a pain to assemble (they all are). BUT…this is NOT a warm LED. Had to go out and buy one that was, so that was annoying.

Bought this for a gift to a friend because they saw mine on the front porch every year at Christmas.
I’ll update the review if it’s different but might original Moravian star is a little difficult to put together and the clips that hold it all together are fragile. I ended up using hot glue and making the whole thing permanent. But it really is very attractive at night.
