Ok, best part is the pictures, but still as with all DAW software it seems to leave the beginner without the basics. It starts as if you knew how to perform these recording tasks already.

The picture / numbers / steps approach is the only way to go for such visually-based software. The information presented shows an in-depth knowledge of the the inner workings of the software. This should be the first book for the beginning user and a handy reference for the experienced one.

I really didn't learn much as I was a total beginner with Garage Band. I say "was" as I have left the Apple fold and moved on. For those who are Apple users I'd keep looking if you are a beginner like I was.

This is a good book. I must confess that I couldn't readily figure out from the book how to get a VST into GarageBand. I had to ask online. Otherwise it's doing a good job of teaching me GarageBand.

This book Print Version 2013 is not really helpful when you have the latest version of Garage Band, too much time spent having to decipher screens and where they moved this window or that screen. Finally had some time to get into it after being out of the country and missed my return window.Tried to find info from the author or is there was another more recent edition to no avail.WAAAAAAAHHHHH!

I have an older copy of GarageBand and didn't really know how to use it. This is clearly written and great illustrations.

Took a while to learn the format but it is a good reference for GarageBand. Still it is no excuse for Apple for not support intimating the program with documentation on their own as they should. I gave 5 stars for this book because of what it does but would give Apple only 1 for what they didn't do.

Fantastic book very comprehensive and easy to understand I already purchased Garageband for IPad which was a brilliant book well written in a logical manner with lots of informative diagrams and interesting facts delving a little deeper into the subject matter but easy to understand. I am now proficient with using Garageband for IPad to its full potential , so I knew Garageband 11 would be a gem. This book covers a lot more subject matter because Garageband for Mac is more complex but the book guides you through it seamlessly in order that you can use Garageband with confidence

It maybe new but not for me. I also thought GB 11 was the latest version...No version 10 is the latest!. Watch videos on U-Tube or ask friend to show you how to use it

the book is well laid out and concise with lots of well planned diagrams ..on the whole the book is clear and easy to understand

Endless pages never-endingly going over irrelevant stuff and it's nearly halfway through the book before you get to anything useful. Very poor English ("how it looks like" FFS!). Very hard style of layout to follow, despite the graphics and the book was out of date almost as soon as it was published. Don't bother.
