OK, this is NOT a fine piece of furniture for the living room and it does require assembly! But for the money, its well designed and sturdy - perfect for the garage, work room or school room. (Well, some folks may even like it in their living room or bedroom for a minimalistic or 'factory' look.)There were a few VERY minor dents on a couple of corners from shipping, but easily straightened out.Unpacking, checking the parts and assembly took exactly one hour and 45 minutes. The instructions were a bit confusing as they are for both the 72 and 42 inch versions of this cabinet (I got the 42 inch version). So, although the instructions say one should have received 22 screws, the 21 that came with it are sufficient for the 42 inch model (you might be short one for the 72 inch model). The rest of the components were OK, though it would have been nice if they were marked or better illustrated. Just take your time and envision what the cabinet SHOULD look like when figuring out which side is top or back, etc. Also, when assembling two pieces, look for a larger hole that aligns with a smaller one behind it for the screw points - this will indicate the correct positioning of the components.Once assembled, the cabinet is fairly sturdy (actually much better than expected though not as sturdy as a spot welded cabinet, but those are MUCH more expensive especially for shipping). It should support most tools, paints, etc. that one desires to store in a locked cabinet.Update: loaded cabinet with about 120 - 150 pounds of items per shelf - no problem and no sag. Really like this storage cabinet!!!

This product came damaged and then I had to re box it to have it sent back. I wouldn’t buy this product. Metal cabinet should be sturdier than this and not compromise it’s integrity as it was bent on arrival.

Our cabinet serves our purpose of storage for extra dishes. We were disappointed that two parts of it were bent. We made it work.
