Golden Autumn 1 is a note-for-note transcription of the fifteen pieces from Fariborz Lachini's solo piano album by the same name that was originally released in the early 1990's and re-released in 2007. Transcribed by David Shenton of New York Music Publishing, USA, the notation is clear, easy to read, and very accurate. The books were printed in an 8"X10" format, which is smaller than is customary, but I didn't find the smaller size at all problematic to read. The difficulty of the music ranges from intermediate to early advanced, so there should be something for most pianists to play and enjoy. Lachini's music tends to be slow and melancholy, and is always beautiful and relaxing to play. My favorite pieces in this collection are "Autumn Lightness," "In Autumn, the Leaves Came to Our House," "In My Little Autumn, the Trees Had Only One Leaf," "Confused, the Leaves Went to the Sea," and "You Were a Guest in Our House in Autumn." Recommended!
