I would like to use to make self watering moss poles. Do you think it will mildew and work properly? Thank you for your feedback.

It certainly did hold the water as intended. Not sure about the mildew issue. Anything that does not get much sunlight is subject to mildew/mold. Might be worth the try.

Will this wick excess water out of the pot?

I have not had the problem of water going from the pot to the water container even when the water container is dry. I don't think the soil would be wet enough for it to act as a wick.

Will this work for a tree planted outdoors?

Does exactly what I need it to do.

Perfect size for my nursery 3" to 4" nursery pots. I feel it would work for a bigger pot as well. Good price for the length and quality of the wick. The look is really of no interest in what info with it...its a good light weight. The white color doesn't bother me...it sometimes turns green in the water reservoir anyway. This is the second time I've purchased this and I'm very satisfied with it's wicking action. I recommended to a friend of mine and she's satisfied with it as well.

Works best esp for my velvet alocasia

I got the ORIMERC 60 ft Self Watering Wick Cord to use while on vacation, and it turned out to be effective. I noticed it works especially well for my velvet Alocasi. Effective for Plant Water Wicks

Bought this rope to use as wicks for self-watering plant set ups. I have been using this product for a couple of months now, on plants ranging in size from 4 inch to 10 inch pots, and so far so good! I even have a couple plants that are drawing water from an external glass jar so there is a little distance for water to travel along the wick line. Good price and does what it needs to do.
