Trashy: Trash Can Deodorizer and Scrubber

I purchased this originally in Feb of 2012 and loved it. I couldn't remember for so long what I had bought or where but I definitely wanted to get more of this product. Luckily when I searched a term in my Amazon order history, it brought this item up and I can get it again (thank goodness I found it again!) I see that the rating is low which disappoints me. With the original product I had picked up 3 years ago at least, it worked just wonderfully. I used it in all of the trash bins indoors, and then also sprayed it into the ones that go outside for the collector to pick up weekly.It has a probiotic in it. Please understand that this isn't something that is instantly going to make odors disappear. If you have odors, you clean out what is causing them as best you can and then spray this into the receptacle for maintenance. From there on if you keep up the maintenance by spraying occasionally, the probiotic will consume the "bad stuff" that ends up causing odors.The garbage cans that would get the worst of it, namely the one in my kitchen and the ones that go outside and sit out there in the sun with the garbage rotting in it had amazing odor control maintenance when I have used this product. It is the reason I am so happy right now to have been able to find this again through sheer luck of checking an order from 3 years ago on Amazon and I wasn't even sure where I had originally bought it from.I will keep this review updated in case these newer batches years later have changed or work differently.

I love the scent of this spray, but it is honestly not very potent. I have been using it in a pail where I keep my puppy's soiled pee pads (a diaper pail) and while it does have a very nice aroma initially, it wears off really quickly. I have found the best thing for stinky odors is natural orange oils. I spray a tiny amount and the pail stays fresh all day and sometimes for a couple days in a row. I think this spray would likely be better for weaker odors, perhaps for use in a car. I will continue to use it for other areas in my house, but I feel it isn't thebest out there for strong odors.

Our town has a contract with Waste Management and we are forced to use the large plastic Waste Management barrels for our trash. The barrels have lids and are made of thick plastic. They smell terrible after the trash has been sitting for a few days in the Florida heat. After trying a variety of products with no success I bought Trashy. The bottle is smaller than I expected but it does rid the can of the terrible oders so I'm happy with the product.

I bought this for my daughter's diaper pail. Unfortunately it does not seem to work too well to cover up the smelly diapers. It seems like it works a little but it doesn't mask the odor completely and is not the solution I was looking for.

The scent doesn't cover or eliminate food waste odor; doesn't linger; doesn't do anything when used to clean my kitchen trash can; i.e., this stuff does NOT work. In addition, the sprayer is cheapo, doesn't spray well and clogs easily. Plus, you have to let it dry before placing a garbage/trash bag, and THAT takes about 20 minutes. It was way more trouble than it was worth, so I threw it out before it was even half used up. The dry powder Arm & Hammer garbage can deodorant is WAY better, but it is much too strong for indoor use.

There are lot of good reviews for this product. But I didnt find it very impressive. the odor control didn't last for more than a few hours.

I have tried the sinky and flushy products, so naturally I had to give Trashy a try. I just moved, and we cleaned out all the trash cans during the process. I was a little skeptical about what this product claimed to do, but it really works. You do have to use a little elbow grease, but it cleans well, and the biggest plus is the odor eliminators. It claims to have enzymes which eliminate odors, and they really work! I don't know if I'll buy again(I have other cleaning products that will probably do the same thing), but it was worth trying it out.

This is more for kitchen cans than for large outside ones. Its far too small a product to be used on big outside garbage cans. It does smell good and seems to help, but you would use this up in no time flat if used for anything other than the kitchen.
