FishmanSBT Classical Guitar Soundboard Transducer with Endpin Jack,Silver

I was experimenting whick pickup to install on my YAMAHA C80. I installed both KNA NG1 and Fishman SBT. Initially I'm hesistant to install Fishman SBT because it doest look impressive ( just a single disc). It sounds more natural than KNA; but KNA is a bit louder. KNA also install easily compared to Fishman SBT where you need to solder the wires to the connector and drill a hole in your guitar. The hole needed is a tad smaller than 12mm which is a bit big compared to other pickups. I also did not follow Fishman recommended location which is below the high e string above the bridge. I experimented with the location by ducktaping it first outside and eventually end gluing it below the high e string but towards the soundhole. It sounds better it you prefer slapping your string.

Considerando que ningún transductor, piezo eléctrico o sistema de recolección interna va a dar como resultado un sonido genuino del instrumento, como si lo hace un micrófono externo, especialmente de condensador, que es lo que mi experiencia me indica, este transductor resulta muy sorprendente, primero por lo poco invasivo que es, y segundo porque su sonido es agradable y no pierde potencia siendo que es pasivo, que era una de mis dudas. Si además se refuerza con un preamplificador externo, fishman platinum stage en este caso, los resultados son aún mejores. Lo instalé en una guitarra clásica y estoy muy contento con el producto.

Funciona muy bien, lo usé para amplificar una guitarra clásica cara, que por esa razón era mejor no perforarla. Solo tuve que hacer la conexión entre el jack y el piezoeléctrico. Tal vez por eso hubiera funcionado mejor el modelo SBT-C, que ya tiene hecha la conexión de fábrica, pero no habían disponibles. Logré idear una manera de sujetar el jack a la guitarra sin perforarla, de otra manera seguro hubiera comprado el modelo que se usa para amplificar pianos y arpas, porque trae una prensa que se adhiere a superficies planas, aunque es mas caro.

I’ve had these on a few guitars, it’s definitely the best way to make a classical guitar electric. No altering the saddle, no onboard preamp, no battery.

I have installed SBT-E transducers on two of my classical guitars. I tried several amplifiers and didn't like the sound. I finally settled the Yamaha Stagepas PA system which closely transmits the actual sound of the guitar. I have had one of the pickups for several years. The extra wire moving around inside the guitar made a clunking sound until I shortened it. The pickup has worked well since then. The transducer should include another sticky pad since they are easily contaminated. I have had to find a substitute.

i placed this little guy on my banjo and it works like a charm. The sound is crispy and very loyal to the instrument. It captures the nature sound right away.

Fishman SBT E gives pure natural sound of your classical guitar no extra effects .. I didn't have any expert to install this so I had to do it myself and wast not difficult job ..only thing is I have to pay extra money for shipment in India .

I traded in my JR Baggs pickup after listening to the sound produced by this pickup. Used with a Fishman ProEQII preamp, I am very satisfied with how the acoustic qualities of the guitar are amped and maintained.
