My contractor suggested Daikin because of how long they have been around throughout the world, under different names in some places. They have a good warranty and he said none of the Daikins he's installed has had any issues yet, and he's been installing them for years. I'm glad I trusted him. So far, I am very pleased with this purchase.Delivery came via Saia freight from the seller Heat&Cool. The freight company made an appointment with me for delivery the following day and they never showed up - no call, nothing. I called them at 5pm and they were basically like "whoops, our bad". Nice. They delivered it 2 days later and it came on a palette. How my contractor was able to move the things into place on his own is beyond me, but he did. He had it installed in about 8-10 hours including running the line to my breaker box on the opposite corner of the house.I was surprised at how large both the interior and exterior units were. I was expecting the interior wall unit to be a little smaller, but it's nice and powerful for my 600-square foot converted garage. It works really well for A/C, even on low, to cool my space. Heat works well, too, but starts to diminish in performance when the temperature approaches freezing and below.It has an option for swinging louvers up and down to distribute the air, but there is no option for swinging left and right. The remote makes it easy to control all of the functions, but the buttons aren't backlit... there is only an option to backlight the screen with all of the information on it.The unit is SO much quieter than my old portable A/C that I would vent out an open window. And it will be so much more efficient, too. I'm super psyched about this product after using it for over a year now. I'll report back if I have any issues.

I do a lot of woodworking in our 3 car garage in Dallas with the doors facing south. This unit does a great job of cooling it off during 100 degree days so at least it's tolerable. It will lower the temp down to the high 70's even those the garage isn't perfectly insulated. The best thing is it really lowers the humidity. It takes it a couple of hours to cool it down if I fire it up when I get home and it helps to leave a hot car outside until you are finished. Otherwise, if I do something on a weekend where I can start it first thing in the morning, it works very efficiently. I can't say that I have noticed that it has made much of an impact on my electric bills, either. All in all, it's been a great purchase.

Thus far the unit has lived up to my expectations. Remember, this is a "heat pump". There are no electric heat strips so I'm assuming that the colder it gets, the less effective the heat function will become. Since we are still in our winter season, I cannot speak to the effectiveness of the air conditioning. For our south-eastern Kentucky winters, heat pumps work well. My only true disappointment is that I didn't realize the warranty only applies to residential applications where the purchaser resides. I bought this for a small ministry center we operate. If there should be an issue, I doubt that it is covered.

UNBELIEVABLY STELLAR!!Next to ZERO in terms of noise level, almost non-exsistant. The REMOTE is super easy and the 18000 BTU for my 400sqft bedroom absolutely makes life 100% more enjoyable. Why I didn't do this years ago is my bad, indeed. I went with DAIKIN as my friend, who is an HVAC guy, looked at the month of my researched comparisons and said, "Always go one step bigger than the stated 'BTU's per sqft'" and, "Can't go wrong with DAIKIN, they are the first company that made the split unit!"I didn't check if that's fact but I'm so pleased with the choice.Can't give an Energy efficiency review since my purchase was a few weeks ago however 5 STARS is not enough.Happy, comfy & super chill

Despite the product description, this does NOT include the installation kit or wall mounting. You need to order those separately for about $400. Other parts come damaged as well. Avoid this product at all costs.

3/1/19 Unit ran for 2 or 3 days then stopped cooling. I had my licensed installer review the entire installation for any problems with the installation. Cost $1400 to install. Getting the run around from all the middle men. So far they're passing the buck around from AC Distributors to AM Distributors to Daikin. All won't take responsibility.Unit arrived with minor damage and dents to the cover! Something this heavy needs better packaging. Installing today and will update quality later. Roof stand purchased with it does not work with this model. Holes do not line up and there is no way to mount it to the roof. 1/30/19 unit was installed yesterday. The is a very annoying hum/grinding noise coming from the condenser fan. I opened up the top to find the problem. Fan is cheaply mounted with no vibration dampeners. I have Pioneer, Mitsubishi and Gree units already installed in my home. Compared to these the unit is poorly made and no where near as quiet.

This unit is quite and efficient. The factory line set flares leaked. My HVAC tech has to re-flare the factory line set. There was no nitrogen in the line set or in the copper coming from the head unit.
