Be More Chill

As a friend of Ned Vizzini, and fellow author, perhaps I am biased in writing this.However, the truth couldn't be clearer: this book is one of the best novels of the year. As testament to this fact, perhaps I should mention that I finished the entire book in but two nights from the combat zone of Iraq (from where I am writing this review).I also waited over three months for it to get here... and it was worth every day of waiting.This book is perfect for kids of all ages, and in that regard (and others), I consider it on par with Harry Potter. If you are currently in high school, are about to go into high school, or have ever been to high school, read this book. This book will make you laugh, cry, and remember every charming (and not-so-charming) memory about those wistful days of old, or prepare you for that experience yourself by helping you become a little more 'chill'.When Ned Vizzini's "Be More Chill" is made into a movie--and it is plain that it certainly will be--I hope to be among the first to see it. I discovered Ned Vizzini's books at a Borders about four years ago. There it was, my first book written by Ned, 'It's Kind of a Funny Story', getting lost among the other books, not being seen, maybe even forgotten. It sounded right, it seemed right, it felt right, to take it with me, so I did. It wasn't casualty since I go through depressions every so often, so it hit the spot, very beautifully and entertainingly. After that I always wanted to get more of his books, he was always in my mind, until I got this one a few years later. A bit later I discovered -just recently- that he decided to leave this world for good in December. Trust me when I say I was devastated, as I, like other people, saw a light in him, hope. That said, I enjoyed this book very much, I actually found it short of pages, I wanted it to go on, have further explanation, be more elaborate, but it's understandable since it was one of his first. Its not as deep as the one mentioned previously but it's still his, and I treasure it now more than ever. It's funny, raw and straight to the point, and I love that...

It was an amazing book, not like the musical which was based on this but a new adventure of its own. If you enjoyed the musical or enjoyed being a teen and it’s adventures that if came with you’ll definitely enjoy this book.

5 stars for sure? Nah, but maybe....this book has been turned into a musical. My reluctant-reader-first-born-son has been tough to get reading. I have been sharing some books with him when I think he would like them, and he reads and smiles but never has passion for the story. Finally one day he reads a book and gives it to me....and ta-da: a funny, relevant, sweet, silly and door opener to all those awkward parent-adolescent talks but slightly less awkward, so in that way, a 5-star experience. What would others think? Maybe just a 4, but maybe that 5 after all.

Itś awesome and really interesting i just got this book yesterday and iḿ already on page 135 witch is chapter 25 out of 49 and itś almost like the musical but i would totally recommend this if you don wanna hear screaming while watching the musical :P

This is a great book if your looking for some light reading. I learned about it through the soundtracks of the play on YouTube and learned it was a book since I'm not in a place plays often happen I chose this option which I feel holds attention and detail better from what I've heard if the play. This story will have you both rooting for the character, hating him for his voices, and then loving him all over again. It explains how hard it is to be a teenager in a society so filled with judgement and anxiety and fears holding you back and what some will do to over come that.

This book had a slow start (only for about 2-3 chapters, in which I cringed a few times... chalk it up to realistic awkward teen problems), but became progressively more funny and relatable as I read on. By the end of the book, you've got love for almost all the characters, and, if nothing else, a sore gut from laughing. An endearing book, I recommend to readers looking for a light, comical read.

Be More Chill takes everything wrong with a small segment of high school boys and glorifies all of it. The end isn’t so bad and is basically its one redeeming quality (saving it from being a one star book). The premise is ridiculous. The behavior of everyone with a squip is ridiculous. It’s just overall extremely ridiculous. This is a book to skip.

When ordered this book I was a bit disappointed that the estimated delivery date was so far away (I should add that it was coming to the UK from the USA so I should have expected such) however I need not have worried as the book has arrived less than 10 days after purchasing! Very pleased with the fast service and the packaging of the book - I will definitely buy from this seller again ... now if only I could buy something that would guarantee me peace and quiet to read the book!!

Enjoy the book so far

I first heard about the Be More Chill musical through a friend and I loved it. I don’t usually read that much but I thought since I love the musical that I would probably love the book and I definitely do. I hiiiiighly recommend this book especially if you like the musical.

My Daughter loves the book. Good condition for used, perfectly readable and Daughter says the story is engaging and entertaining.

Good book but i feel the musical fits jeremy's character better. i liked the differences though
