Audel Water Well Pumps and Systems Mini-Ref

Limited Usefulness
The author has obvious experience and knowledge. BUT, oddly, so much was left out which could have been included and not take up too much more space. For example, no mention was made of PVC or CPVC for well casings and system plumbing - astounding! Also, water storage tanks were not discussed and neither was ozone in the water treatment section. As for the troubleshooting section, good that pressure switch "chattering points" was described, but what about cavitation (a common problem with pressure pumps)? It is misleading to call this book a reference guide. It is so incomplete.

Well worth the money.
I've just had this book for a day, but I already appreciate the depth and breadth of the information. Another reviewer was pretty hard on the author for using manufacturer's illustrations and for being too folksy in his writing. In my opinion, both characteristics added to the utility of this handy little volume. Based on a day's search, I didn't find anything as comprehensive and as compact as this volume and in a Kindle edition as well. I think it will serve me well (pun not intended) when I soon join a well-drilling team in Africa. I may soon upgrade the rating to 5-stars if it continues to be as good as it first appears.

Lots of information
This is like a college course book, difficult to find the basic information that I am interested in

Good reference book
For anyone that has a well or spring system to get their water using a pump this is a great reference book. I grew up on a farm in the 1960's and 70's and we had a well and spring to get our water where you had to relay on a pump to get the water in the house, I wish that we had this book back then it would have solved a lot of trouble and confusion trying to keep the pump going and headaches. I recommend this book to anyone who still has well and pump system it will make understanding how the pump and tank system works.

Good information.
A quick and concise reference. Bought several years ago and still have it on hand for reference.

As much as could be expected.
I expected more from an Audel's guide but in retrospect, this is as much as could be expected on a simple subject. It is a good guide and worth having if you are interested in being responsible for your own well.

Limited pretty much to water pumps used in Northeast
Limited pretty much to water pumps used in Northeast. Here in North Florida, the wells and pumps I have as well as my neighbors are not covered.

reference
As stated, its a reference book, its okay to supplement well knowledge. You need to read alot of sources on wells to be confident with it.

Pumps and water systems
A good book with basic information. Easy to understand for anyone who is not a professional in the field. If you are to work on this type of installations then it is worthwhile to get.
