Fixed squealing
My vacuum was making an awful squealing noise when the roller was turned on. I tried replacing the belt, but the bearings in the roller were worn out. This fit perfectly and was easy to install. The noise is gone and it works great again.

Great Replacement - 1st Use
My DC17 vacuum was making an awful rattling noise when I used the brush roller. Even after I installed a new brushroller and belt the noise returned. I researched and thought that the noise might be caused by a roller motor that was bad. I also read that some aftermarket and even OEM brushrollers can be off. I thought I would try one last time with this brushroller that was reported to be a Dyson OEM. The previous one I tried was said by the seller (not Amazon) to be OEM. Whereas, this Amazon purchase said to be OEM has proved to be worth every cent I paid. I very much like the Dyson performance and I was not wanting to get rid of my old one after only six years use. If you have a rattle noise when using the brushroller (carpet) setting on the Dyson, I would highly recommend trying this roller with a new belt to see if it resolves the problem.

Worked great
Fit in perfectly and looked identical to original part. No noticeable noise or problems. Vacuum back up and running as normal.Update- If you notice a loud noise or "clanking" it may not be fault of the brush. You may need to replace the belt. The belt can get stretched some with use, or with changing the brush, and no longer hold snug. This allows the brush to be too loose and it is unpleasantly loud rattling around in there. If you brush can be slid into place easily your belt likely isn't tight enough and needs replaced.

Perfect match
The is the real deal perfect match for the original. Although replacing the brushroll is not a snap, this is the one for the job. If you have a few minutes it's worth getting a new one, also buy the belt (seperate purchase) to update at the same time

Not the right roller
This is not for the Dyson animal Dc17. Notice no place for the belt and the brushes are too far apart. It might be for a Dyson animal but NOT the DC17

Works perfectly and easy to install
I needed to replace the brush in my DC17 vacuum and found it here for the best price. It was easy to install since I did not need to change the belt too. Now my Dyson is back and as good as ever.
