IF YIDDISH IS A NEW LANGUAGE FOR YOU
Great resource for beginners. Easy to use, far less complicated than another I purchased because it doesn't require good working knowledge of Yiddish/Hebrew characters or specific grammatical constructs . Of course it is less comprehensive but that makes it also more useful as a starter tool.

A good reference book for anyones library who reads Singer or other Yiddish writers.
I have already found myself using it for checking many of I.B.Singers word meanings. It along with a good Hebrew/Ennglish dictionary are a real plus.

Good dictionary
It is very good if your looking for Romanized translations of Yiddish. I didn't realize that it wouldn't also have the Hebrew letter translations, so that was my fault, not the fault of this book.

Excellent resource!
I bought this as a gift for my mom who is taking a Yiddish class and cannot read Hebrew. It's perfect for her because the Yiddish is written in phonetic English. She loves it!

I bought it to help me witha wonderful book, The Marrying of Chani Kaufman" by Eve Harris. It had Yiddish phrases omn nearly every page, most of which I knew but I needed help with some less obvious. This dictionary really didn't help much. A waste of money to be honest.
