The app for this product REQUIRES access to photos, media, files, location, network and Bluetooth. Other than Bluetooth to control the device, the other REQUIRED permissions have nothing to do with monitoring the temperature of a roast in my oven. Not worth the risk that photos, media and other files from my phone & tablet are going to find their way to China.

Tested this against a few others and this was very well balanced in it's readings. It takes a fast read shows a history of readings and temps and it's bluetooth connectivity is great. No lost connections or drops while sitting cozy inside while you smoke away that delicious bbq!Screen is very bright too! Easy to read and very simple controls make this a great buy. Can't say enough good things about it. Going to buy some as gifts for x-mas for the smokey ppl in my fam.

A thermometer that connects to a phone is the holy grail. I’ve wanted one for ages and this was affordable. I’m a pretty serious hobbiest baker and I cook a lot of big meals for people. An internal thermometer is the key to it all. This one seemed to work fine for the first month, but then it just stopped being accurate. I was baking bread the night before Thanksgiving and the gague got stuck on 208’ and never changed (the bread itself was clearly 210 and above). The next day, it was almost 20° off measuing my Thanksgiving turkey. I had 29 people coming for dinner and I had to ask one of the guests to bring her meat thermometer.If I had relied on this one alone, It would have ruined the meal. I even changed the batteries to make sure that wasn’t the problem. This was a waste of money and it could’ve been much worse than that.

I’ve tried many different ones and this one is by far the best! Great price for the quality that you receive. I’ve used it a number of times and it’s amazing!!

When I bought this there were no reviews but I thought I'd take a chance since it was what I was looking for and the price was great.I'm glad I did. It's a great product.It's been used several times over the past couple months.Very accurate.I'm happy and DO recommend it to others.

Smoked a chicken, 2 turkeys, 4 pork tenderloins, and 2 prime ribs in the last 2 months (all of the holiday celebrations were at our house). It worked PERFECTLY every time. I love it! - So far so good (2 months in).
