Good quality and caught fish...
So I fish Maryland's section of the Tangier Sound and this time of year we are jigging for schooling stripers along the drop offs and deep under working birds. This is nail it on the bottom, lift, and then let it flutter back down again fishing so with it banging that hard bottom over and over the paint can take a beating pretty quickly. This lure arrived with a bright, glossy finish and plenty of flash even in today's deep dirty water and ended the day looking just as good as new and still catching fish for me. I expect that I will pick up a few more of them in some different colors to try out....

Snapper like these!... I guess everything likes these...
Well made jigs! - hooks are sharp and strong! Think the jig does a bit of 'helicoptering" and had a problem with line wrapping around around the rod tip. That may be my technique though. Also, my preference is for a red gusset on the hooks and tether and some in the set are that way but, not a fan of black... and maybe a 1/2" longer tether, too. Again, that's my preference. Colors are good- I'm partial to iridescent blue- or green. Regardless, I've banged 'em into rocks and coral and finish has held up well... fish teeth do leave marks but, that's OK. I'm quite happy with these jigs- you will be, too. Oh, yeah, I know, hitched up the jig backwards... don't know what I was thinking when I did that... but, still worked-An addendum: braided line is the culprit for looping around the rod tip, NOT the jig. I've ordered three sets... and the little "satchels" they come in are cute. Now, just gotta find more fishing time...

These jigs were basically made for the Southern California Fishery ...
These jigs were basically made for the Southern California Fishery. I have used the 250g size in the morning for rockfish in rocky and hard bottom terrain and the paint and hooks hold up well to the punishing environment. Killed the rockfish too! The 80g and 150g size works well for yellowtail. Used multiple times and holds up very well to the salt environment of the ocean

Good quality jigs
Good quality jigs. I modified some of mine and moved the hooks to the upper eyelet, so when used, the hooks don't snag the bottom. They now fall mid body to the lure. I also added split rings to tie my line to as it gives the lure a bit more flutter.Lures I didn't modify, I just tied off my line to the hook-end of the lure. Seems to work just as well. I recommend tying off on the hook end and keeping the hooks off the bottom when bottom jigging. These lures worked great for Mackanaw or Lake Trout. They also work for ocean bottom fishing, but easily get hung up on rocky bottoms unless tied off like I suggested.

Assist hook lines are pitifully thin !
Disappointed in thin assist hook lines. No way will I leave them on ! Calissa has had a history of using cheap hooks on their lures to where Utubers say to not use them , swap them out. Was hoping these hooks were better , but thin line on hooks is a shame. Other brands use thicker line on their hooks. I'm done with Calissa.

Solid lure
I haven't fished this lure yet. I've been looking to pick up a lure similar to the Shimano flat fall without the price. These seem the be the same shape and style. The color is really nice, the assist hooks are sharp and seem to be ok, and I don't see any major issues with them that would keep them from catching fish.If they fail miserably, I'll update.

Highly Recommend
Ok so I decided to be different and order this for one of my boyfriends birthday gifts. He likes to fish but I do not believe he is that good at it. He went off shore here in Galveston and swore he caught a 40 pound grouper by accident. This is definitely well made, heavy duty and durable. 5 out of 5 stars.

Quality jig
For the most part this jig worked as advertised. The jetty did take a bite out of the paint, but it should hold up for at least a few more outings. I ordered this jig for bonito, and for the bonito in Southern California, onshore, it may be a little too big. Still, I could see this being an asset for yellowtail, dorado, and other similar size fish.
