as stated in the title, my fourteen year old kind of heavy cat likes this food. i was using another brand and he was up to fifteen pounds which was the equivalent of a five foot nine inch two hundred and sixty pound person. he's been on it for less than a year and is now down to thirteen pounds with maybe another pound to go. don't want to go too light as we all know when our animals get sick they lose weight so quickly. he also takes phenobarbital which can affect his eating but in his case it has not. overall good ingredients and one of the lower fat amount for dry food. i also am limiting his treats and looking at the fat content for can food which he gets a teaspoon in the morning because i also give him lysine for allergies and have to have some type of liquid for the lysine powder. other than that he is fairly healthy and semi active. i'm going to continue using wellness for its quality and reasonable pricing. the food is smaller than other brands but a five pound plus bag last for a long time. UPDATE...he has been on it consistently now without any other type of food and limited treats and he now weight 11.8 to 12.0 depending on his poo and pee. Loves the food and for some reason it is always on sale when I need it again so it's a great deal and has him drinking more water. He is now very active running through the house and he turned fifteen a couple of days ago.

I’ve been giving this to my 7-year-old cat most of her life and she is very healthy and her coat is beautiful and vibrant. She has never, ever been sick. She is VERY picky, especially with dry food. I mix this with the Wellness pouches. I get the morsels and mix it up with the kibble because it blends in well. This is the only way she will eat dry food because she is a spoiled Queen, but she won’t eat any other brand of dry food. My 1-year-old is not picky and will eat whatever, but I’m happy to give this to him too. I’ve done my homework and Wellness is so much better for cats than Blue Buffalo or Purina, which have way more additives and use seafood products that are harvested by victims of human trafficking in Southeast Asia. (If you don’t know about this, get informed!!!) This brand is more ethical and healthy and I’m happy to pay a little bit more. It’s really not that expensive. This bag lasts my two cats 2-3 months and we buy them a box of wet food packages about once a month. (They only need a tablespoon a day of the wet food so they don’t pee crystals.) That being said, we average about $50 a month on cat food and litter. That’s very affordable for us. You’ve gotta do what’s within your budget though, but I’m telling you, this is great stuff your kitties will love!

My cat has been on a fantastic protein dense kibble but, him is getting really chunky! So it was time to move him to something a little lighter in the calorie department. I spent many hours researching foods before landing on this food by Wellness. On paper, it's a fantastic food! When I received and opened the food, it smelled like it should be appetizing to my feline as well. I mixed in a 25/75% of new to old and sat it down for him, he went right to it and started eating, but quickly began spitting out the Wellness kibbles. In short order, he lost all trust in his food dish and went on a hunger strike until I could convince him to trust his old food again. Stressed and disappointed that he didn't like the food I spent so much time finding for him, I wrote to Wellness about their "catisfaction guarantee" and within 3 weeks they sent me out a check to reimburse me for the food my feline didn't like. I gave the food 4 stars because I still believe it's a good food, just my cat is toooo picky (he also won't eat any, and I mean ANY, wet food. Have you ever heard of such?). I went through 3 more weight-control foods before finally finding one he would eat. I'm still disappointed but very pleased with my interaction with Wellness and still believe this is a good food.

I have four cats, and two of them are picky eaters, so for years I’ve had to buy two different brands of cat food to appease them. They all love this food. They have no problem eating it, and I feel good knowing it’s nutritious and affordable.

My cats love this. Trying not to over feed them. I do buy the weight loss one. I went from cheap food to grain free. Since my cats are 9 years old. Want the better cat food. To keep them happy and healthy. I have 2 cats brother is Boots and Pretty Girl is the sister. They are my emotional support animals. I use the wet food but I use separately. I don’t combine the two. Every cat is different eaters so do the best for your cats!

Two years ago, I switched my cat Sammie to Wellness food, and the results have been remarkable. Now 14 years old, he no longer suffers from itching or dandruff. His recent blood work shows significant improvement, and he's shed two much-needed pounds. We are both grateful for this positive change in his diet and overall health.
