Both tell more or less the same story.This is quickly becoming the best phone cover I've ever purchased. I was transitioning from the iPhone SE (which is a tiny thing, compared to the XR) and was really concerned about being able to handle this much larger phone in one hand at times, about the greater real estate which opens up more opportunity for damage to the screen and the body of the device, how much grip I'd be able to have on this larger device, and I also needed something that would be compatible with the magnetic phone holder I have installed in my car.This device checks of EVERY one of those areas. The ring in the back is so subtle (unlike pop-sockets and other gimmicks out there) and yet it provides an incredible functionality that allows me to handle the phone with one hand when I want to. The thing fits completely snug on my iPhone XR and the little bit of extra height on the front side protects it from getting scratches on the screen when placed facedown (on flat surfaces) and just protects the phone effectively, while keeping a slim profile and doing the phone's original design justice. The texture and material of the back part of the cover offers a nice degree of friction and grip to the phone, which is nice since without it the devices easily slips out of the hand. The side bumpers of the cover are nice and slim, but rubbery to the touch, so they protect very well while also helping with grip. Finally, the metal circle in the middle of the back of the cover... man... it's a perfect fit for my magnetic car holder. That things snaps onto the magnet with a vengeance!I really cannot spot a single flaw on this cover. The ring is very thin. Very durable so far... but that's the only part that I wonder how long it'll last unscathed. I'll update this review a few months down the road to update on any developments.As of right now... BY THIS! It's a phenomenal product, if you're looking for a cover that fulfills all the tasks I listed above.

So this case has been on my iphone XR for all of two days, but it is just what I wanted. The case feels durable and has a hard clear back plastic cover and black sides that are slightly "stickier" to make the case easier to hold on to. It feels like it would protect the phone in the event of a drop. Secondly, I used to be opposed to the idea of a ring to hold onto a phone, but have found it very helpful given the size of the phone. The fact that it doubles as a stand is great. My only concern is if and when the hinge loosens to the point that it won't fold back into the case. Lastly, (and most importantly for me) the circle magnet did work with an existing magnetic mount I already owned. No need to stick an extra magnet onto the case or phone.

The case is good. It gives you everything you look for in a phone case, plus it works with any magnetic mount. Those are all great.The ring is a different story. Poor designs that anyone can immediately tell:1. It's very hard to pull the ring out using one hand. If you just trimmed your nail, chances are you need to use two hands in a awkward way to get it out.2. The ring *cannot* act like an actual stand, like many other rings do. As the product description says, it only supports horizontal view (since the flip too loose). In fact the only angle it will work horizontal view with the ring perpendicular to the phone. If you have used other rings and are used to more flexible standing positions, this can be a pain.3. Unlike the loose flip, the rotation is too tight. You'll need to put extra effort to rotate its angle when holding your phone with a finger in the ring.To me the more important thing is the magnetic mount support and protection, so I can live with the poorly designed ring and give a 4 star. But I would like to point it out for other customers who might be bothered by that.

...and I should know. I’ve ordered an amazing amount of cases for myself and family. From no-name to brand name cases. This one: looks good. Relatively thin. Amazing to hold... feels great in hand. Rounded edges. Nice lip on front and rear. Dots on back are really nice. Buttons easy to push. Has lanyard holes-I use a wrist lanyard... got a set here on Amazon and those are amazing. The ring on the back stands phone nice- I’m not a pop socket fan.. I think they are too large. This also sticks to my Evutec magnetic holder in car vent- not as great as the great Evutec case.. sits a bit lower.. but works! In short; this is an excellent case... better than many of my branded cases! I’m very thrilled with this case.. imho.. I think it’s also an amazing price for this case. I have a black XR and I have the darker black case that is somewhat transparent! I almost want another color... I love this case so much! Also.. not a mark on it! Set it down... no scratches! Highly recommend this case! Thin but protective- more so than ANY case I own! Thank you to the manufacturer, seller; as well as Amazon!

When browsing through this and a dozen other cases, this case attracted me because it is blue - the color I picked for my new phone. The features also sounded nice and even though this particular case had less than 10 reviews, other products by this company were fairly positive so I took the plunge. I've been using it for a few weeks now and I love it. I ordered this one as well as a clear one from another company and this one feels sturdier and better overall. What I didn't expect to actually like was the ring it has on the back. As I said, I mostly bought it because it seemed very sturdy and it was blue, haha. But I have found myself holding the phone by the ring while talking on the phone via speaker phone and also using it to make the phone stand while I watch something or just set the phone on a table. I haven't dropped it too many times or anything dramatic so I can't speak for that, but if it does happen I'll try and remember to update this review. Very satisfied.
