It works well but it needs to be paired with something that will spin with the bag.

UPDATE : I found a fix for the noise, which was cutting up a few inches of bicycle inner tube and folding them and placing them between the spring and the hook on my stand. Dampens the sound very well. I bought this for use with a heavy bag stand as a way to try and reduce noise. It had mixed results. It absorbs some shock and causes the frame of the stand to move a little less and reduced *that* noise, but the sound of the spring rubbing against a metal hook was quite screechy and bad. That was largely fixed by making sure my mount hook was sideways (if one stands directly in front of the bag) and the attachment points of the spring were parallel to me. That way, when the bag moves it will mostly roll forward like a wheel. As for the optional carabiner - it added way too much length (lowered the bag) and it's a pretty beefy one. I replaced it with a $3 1/2" carabiner from Lowe's (because Home depot donates to trump). My heavy bag came with 1/4" carabiners so the load capacity should be fine (1/2" is rated at like 800lbs anyways). Overall, the spring is great for what it is meant for, just be mindful about your setup and measure your current suspension apparatus's length. You might need a similar spring that's shorter to keep the bag at the right height.

This spring is holding up a 200 lb punching bag and does the job effectively. After some heavy use and time, there was a failure point. I contacted the seller about the issue and they promptly took care of it and sent a replacement. No problems since and really appreciative of them standing by their product.

I bought this spring hoping to stop the pounding and shaking of the joist caused from hitting the bag. What an amazing, cheap to add item to the punching bag. I no longer hear rattling from the garage door opener when punching or kicking the bag. The spring is absolutely heavy duty. Super quality able to withstand pounding the bag plus the bag shown in the picture is 100lbs. Don't even hesitate or consider buying something cheaper. This is commercial quality stuff you need.

We got a free punching bag that we hooked directly to our basement ceiling. It felt like an earthquake every time my husband used it. As a person who understands basic physics I feel like I shouldn’t have been quite so surprised at how well this thing worked. And I’m embarrassed at how long we went without. Buy it now!!

I had a 100 lbs bag on a single joist in my basement. Did some light punches and noticed it was making creaking noise and shook the room above so I was hesitant to use it and took the bag down. Couple months later I came across the spring and installed it on my bag and wow what a difference it made. The spring absorbs a lot of the impact and makes it usable even on a single joist. Will update this review if anything happens in the next couple of months!

este pack de mosquetón y muelle son PERFECTOS para colgarte el saco de boxeo en el techo. yo tenía el mío colgado en el típico soporte de pared, sin este producto, directamente el saco ahí, y recibía mucho ruido con cada pegada, mal feedback. ahora lo he colgado en el techo con un artículo específico para ello, y he añadido este mosquetón y sobre todo el muelle, y perfecto. Sin ruido ninguno y con una sensación mucho mejor en los golpes. el muelle absorbe parte del golpe, restando impacto en el enganche, con lo que sufre menos el techo, y además hay menos ruido. en resumen, un producto muy adecuado que me va genial.
