Eno's ambient innovations were in full flower when he met Fripp again on this 1975 LP. This is a meditative journey through calm seas and skies: Wind on Water; Evening Star; Evensong; Wind on Wind, and An Index of Metals. Still entrancing and enduringly influential!

Pleasant Enough
I believe that these two fellow probably invented ambient sound as it has been what 40 yrs since "No Pussyfootin" was released, so it is hard to criticize here. I loved the mellowed sound of side 1 and its clean natural aesthetic. Side 2 with it's dark mysterious space sounds I just could not appreciate. Not only were the sounds harsh they had a certain seemingly redundant nature in the looping I just could not get by. If I could only buy one Fripp and Eno CD it would probably be "No Pussyfootin". If you are a true fan of ambient sounds I'd buy both.

Fripp and Eno
If you like either artist, you are sure to enjoy this. Timeless. Ageless. I used to use Evening Star as my talk over music on WRPI, Troy, back in the 80's.

This is a great album, but only side one
This is a great album, but only side one. I had this album on vinyl when it was new, and recently bought the CD. The Index of Metals takes a special kind of listener. If you love Fripp's mellow sustained solos, you'll love the cut Evening Star on side one. His guitar solo is incredibly cool.

Side two is dark and like something out of a David Lynch movie
Side one is one of the most serene, blissed out sequences of music I've ever heard. Side two is dark and like something out of a David Lynch movie.

teriific ambient music
can't beat Robert Fripp and Brian Eno together for this type of music. If you are a fan of Eno's ambient series this is a must have, as is 'No Pussyfooting'. Fripp's looping system 'Frippertronics' he called it, is used to great effect here.Make sure you also get Fripp's remastered solo album 'Exposure' which has the Daryl Hall tracks restored, and then pick up his recording 'Sacred Songs' which could have- and some say SHOULD have- become the next iteration of King Crimson...

Title song a hidden gem of the '70s
This album has one of the beautiful pieces of music that was used in the film Wonderstruck. The musical artists use synthesizers and an electric guitar to create a beautiful give and take melody. Kind of haunting, but very satisfying to me.

Early electronica -sublime
Early electronica - sublime. This is one of my favourite suits of music for all time - and it is great to have it on CD as well as the vinyl I brought in the 1970's.
