Good solution for small storage macbook
The shipping is signature required, which is great for this expensive SSD. I replaced this for my MacBook Pro (2014 mid). It's easy to install within half an hour. However, the instructions for backup and restore data are not clear, which just refers to apple's support website. In the end, I used the "time machine" by another external hard drive to backup and restore my data, which took me a whole day. Everything works super well with two small problems.1. In the beginning, every time I click Finder, the cursor always change to rainbow circle for around 10 seconds. But this problem disappeared after a day.2. I need to relocate the path of cloud drive (google drive and Dropbox). For the performance, the read and write speed improve a lot. The temperature of my computer is still tolerant. I would recommend everyone who suffers from "out of storage" in Macbook to replace this SSD. Besides, the customer service is instant and nice.

Super simple.
It's a complete kit and super simple. I used the free SuperDuper for a simple, one-time clone of the hard drive. I started it at night while I was sleeping, so I don't know how long it took, but in the morning I just swapped out the drive with the one in my late 2015 MacBook Air and it started right up like nothing was new. I now have almost four times the space with room for pictures, videos, etc.... It's been running for a month now and so problems. I've kept the old hard drive in the included case for safe keeping to ensure should anything happen, I now have at least a backup hard drive I can use to access Time Capsule. The only thing I didn't notice was that the kit comes with the screw drivers you need, so I had bought an extra set. The kit actually comes with everything you need except for the cloning software.

Works as designed
This part works as designed. its super easy to install, this part comes with compatible screwdrivers. The only gripe I have is that with new suppliers like Fledgling Feather Turbo M13 etc, Transcend needs to reduce the price to make this a more compelling value- especially for larger capacities (I bought the 480 GB drive)

Life sucks when the internal SSD dies in your iMac :(
If you have a 2013 or later iMac you better hope the SSD in there doesn't decide to kick the bucket! Mine did unfortunately and since the SSD is on the BACK of the motherboard the ENTIRE machine needs to be gutted to get at it! With that being said the local authorized Apple shop said "We don't want to be responsible if anything goes wrong during the repair so we recommend you go external!"UGH!So I did some searching around and found the JetDrive 855! Ignore any of the compatibility things you see about this drive. It's Thunderbolt 1 and it works just fine with my 2013 iMac! Being on Thunderbolt it's obviously not nearly as fast as the internal was, but honestly I don't really notice it aside from a speed test. So overall I'm very happy with it!Install note: If you're using this with a Mac you'll need to fire up Disk Utility and on the Upper Left of the Window you'll see "View" change that to "Show All Devices" so you can see the raw disk itself. You'll then need to Erase it using APFS (High Sierra or Mojave) with GUID Partition Map. Once you do that you'll you'll be able to install no problem!Enjoy!

Need to upgrade to High Sierra 10.13 in order to be recognized by MacOS
I purchased the JetDrive 855 PCIe SSD for my MacBook Air model A1466 (Early 2015), which based on my research requires the PCIe version of this Transcend. The OS version I was running was El Capitan, and I was not able to upgrade it to High Sierra because the original 128GB SSD was complete full. I didn't read the instructions closely which states that the drive requires 10.13 (High Sierra), so I played around with it for HOURS before figuring it out. I ended up having to move some files to another external drive in order to upgrade the OS to 10.13, which apparently upgrades the Mac firmware as well. After upgrading the drive was recognized right away.I followed the instructions on YouTube to install a new version of the OS on the new 240GB internal drive so I can start fresh, and used the original 128GB as an external drive. It's perfect. If you are purchasing this to replacing your complete-full original SSD, just remember you HAVE TO upgrade to 10.13 before the drive can be recognized. Hopefully this will save you some time and headache.

Works fine as it said
I purchased this drive for my Macbook Air (early 2015), running on OS X 10.13 (High Sierra). The problem I encountered was the migration procedure. Although High Sierra is the latest OS X, the official installation video provided is not enough for going through the upgrade process.First, I do the backup with Time Machine, from the existing disk to another hard drive.Secondly, plug in the JetDrive 855, format it using "Disk Utility" in OS X.Remember to partition and format the Drive as "APFS"! If you cannot format as APFS, you cannot proceed the upgrade procedure. This can be done by expanding the list on the hard drive volumes. At the top level of the JetDrive 855, and you will see the Format as APFS option. When everything is done, shutdown the computer and swap the disks.Start your computer, plug in the hard drive with "TimeMachine" backup, select the image to restore. After a few reboot and the upgrade is completed.

Super Easy Mac Upgrade Kit
Easy to install, However the included P5 screwdriver striped itself and became unusable after one screw. Make sure to have a proper P5 screwdriver before install.
