Really good printer. Using it for a portable photo booth with iPads and Printopia. Prints very fast.

Although DNP distributes an OSX driver for 10.5-10.8, it flat-out does not work. Every attempt to print results in an error message about incompatible media size. Shame.

It's pretty important when you make a photo printer, to create a driver for the most commonly used computer among photographers. There is no decent driver for any newer Macs, and I don't know any professional photographers who use a PC on a regular basis. Tech support has no good explanation for this except to claim "everyone" uses a PC, which is obviously not true. This company appears unprepared for change and very inflexible. They don't know their market either, obviously.

I have 6 DS40 and 4 DS80 printers. Loading the paper and ribbon is not quite as easy as the older Sony UPDR200 printers, but the DS40 does a decent job printing. Colors are truer than the UPDR200. The case is about 40% smaller than comparable Sony, Shinko or Mitsubishi printers, making it much easier to transport. Price point of the printer as well as the media kits make this unit an overall good buy. DNP's customer support and return/exchange policy is also quite good, sending replacement printers at no charge if the unit is broken under normal usage.

Very please with this unit. Very good speed (9 sec) and picture quality.

Ok I have to say something about this printer! It is simply amazing! I love it and the quality! I own a photo booth business and people always compliment the pictures because seriously they are blown away at how good they look. Color, black and white, vintage its always the same response! Thank you DNP for making such a great product!

Best printers I’ve ever owned. Keep up with high volume prints and never lose their quality. Clients are always amazed!
