Melvin the Magnificent Molar: A Picture Book About Taking Care of Your Teeth

Well done. Not your typical children book about oral hygiene.Illustrations were pretty; not overwhelming with dental equipment and office decor. This book lays out many reasons why children should be good about taking care of their primary teeth.Depending on the age group, it can a little long but my 5 year old was interested for the entire story.As an addition, you can request that your child receive emails from the "tooth fairy" which was a nice bonus.

This is a very good informative book! As a dental hygienist I appreciate that someone can actually get it right in a children's book about teeth! The reason for only four starts is because this is a lengthy read that is probably best for older kids.

Excellent book on cleaning ones teeth... especially because it also covers what to expect at the dentist office so kids will not be so scared. Basically the molar wants to be brushed so he doesn't turn green and pleads with the kid to take good care of him and all his tooth friends. This is the best tooth-brushing book I have read.

Cute book but kind of long for a 4 year old

Have a kid who likes to rush through brushing his teeth? This book is perfect! Melvin is your molar and he tells kids not to forget to brush him. It's great, we always ask "Did you brush your Melvin?!" Great reminder, and the tooth Fairy is friends with the Dentist, which is always helpful.

My 3rd grader is reading this to herself again after I read it to her last night. The preschooler is listening avidly. It is very engaging and informative about visiting the dentist as well. I would highly recommend it.

I cannot say enough about this book. It is so entertaining all the way to the end. I think it is an excellent teaching tool and I think I am just as big or even a bigger fan of it than my students.
