AustriAlpin Cobra Buckle 2.25" Dual Adjustable No-Sew

This little guy is pricy ($35), but makes it easy to convert a 2.25" pistol belt to a better buckle without having to sew anything. Even though you don't HAVE to sew, it would be beneficial to sew velcro on the trailing tabs of the belt (and matching spot on the belt proper) to keep the length set in place on the buckle after tension is released (the belt is off). Instead of sewing velcro to the belt I used an elastic band to keep the ends close to the belt and hold the tension adjustment on the buckle. The buckle itself is pretty awesome, really high breaking force and smooth, repeatable locking/unlocking action.

Anyone who wears a duty belt in Law enforcement, Corrections, Security, EMS, Etc needs to swap their current buckle to an AustriAlpin buckle.Unlike the "plastic" buckles which fail this is made of aluminum and will certainly hold up over time.Another benefit is that unlike the plastic buckles this one does not "squeak and creak" like the plastic ones.When you click the buckle together you know that your duty belt will stay on until you are ready to remove it.Great buy!This should come standard on all duty belts sold to professionals!

I bought this as a replacement to the plastic buckle that came with the pistol belt I use with my battle belt. I wanted something easier to don and remove, yet remain secure under stress and activity. At around $35.99, it is significantly less expensive than buying another belt/buckle combo.

We love these for our duty belts. One officer purchased one on his own and now they are spreading through the department. Use with the retention bar on each side or bypass it and use just like you would a plastic buckle. No more sudden breaks or replacements...should have this until retirement. Quick release toggles let you get out of it quick for those "10-200" situations but it's not going to come un-done wrestling someone into cuffs (stand by as we haven't had a chance to field test that statement yet, only training...though one of our officers is an avid climber and he assures us there is no way it will come un-done accidently).

This is a replacement for a plastic buckle (2.25") that went on a belt rig. This is legit AustriAlpin and I'm happy with it. If you need an upgrade for a 2.25" buckle, then yes, I would highly recommend this.

The item is not cheap, however the buckle is supreme for a duty belt.Had to add some mineral oil to stop some squeaking.

Replaced the buckle on my Bianchi duty belt, I wear my belts tighter than I should, my gut doesn’t help. The plastic buckle on my old belt was starting to grind like a skeleton army of the dead when I walked. I love this as a replacement , wish I did it a while ago. Arrived quickly. No noise. Easy on and easy off, holds tight.
