A great buy for the money.
Soundmagic E11C review The earphones come well packaged in a nice cut-foam insert, all feeling sensibly professional without being over the top. There are a couple of different sizes of spare ear tips, and a snazzy little carrying case. The red zip makes it look smarter than most of the half dozen of these I have lying around, and it feels like a little sturdier and more protective than some. Fit and finish of the things is very slick. The housing of plug, splitter, volume control and earbuds is all shades of brushed aluminium, with logos and L/R markers seemingly laser etched on. The strain relief at the joins is all a smart looking clear plastic, and the cable itself feels robust. Apparently silver plated copper, for if you believe in cables, it seems like it would cope with a little bit of abuse, and didnโt tangle too easily. The overall feel is of an earphone built like an absolute tank, that could easily stand up to the abuse of day to day use, and look smart and slick while doing it. Fit-wise, they... fit?... they donโt seem very sensitive to insertion depth or positioning, and with my reasonably small ears both the small and medium tips were comfortable, and I settled on the mediums as they stayed in the ears best. The housing is sensibly compact, and they settle pretty far into the ears, but I wouldnโt want to be wearing them to sleep with. Isolation is very reasonable; there is no sound leakage, and the vast majority of outside noise is cut out when playing music in a noisy environment. I have been driving these mainly from a Fiio BTR1 dongle, as well as my unwieldy-yet-great-sounding Audioquest jitterbug/dragonfly black combo. They were perfectly happy being driven from the Fiio, although the dynamic driver did seem to like the extra power the dragonfly could supply. For the sound, I would characterise these as pleasantly unsurprising. The frequency response is impressive, and tested on a signal generator were giving a strong sound out down to 35Hz. SoundMAGIC claim a frankly laughable 15Hz, which is frankly only sound if you are a blue whale, but for normal listening the bass extension is more than adequate. There is a good amount of bass, without it being overpowering and intrusive. The high frequencies are pretty forward in their presentation, making these a livelier rather than relaxing listen, and this is pretty sensible for earphones that are likely to be an on-the-go listen, as this means the sound is less loss against background noise. Midrange is solid and warm, without being over-lush and muddy, if it is a little less forward in presentation than the bass or highs. Overall, I am very happy with these earphones. They look and feel great, and the sound is unremarkable in the best way, as they just sit out of the way and let the music through. A great choice in this price range.

Very good quality so far.
the best wired headphones I had so far, looking good, great sound and bass, good quality so far, we will see how they perform longer term. Four star - because the cable is a bit noisy while listening to the music.

Good price and decent performance - fit is important
I owned a pair of these a few years ago and eventually sold them because they were a bit underwhelming. I've since realised that fit is super important for ear buds. I've found some tips which fit my ears well and I just put those (Spinfit) tips on the earbuds - without trying the supplied tips although I may try them later. With the right tips these buds are good. They are light, they fit comfortably and sound good. I've tried them with movies, music and the venerable Alan Parsons Sound Check CD (very useful because it has single and multiple instrument tracks, recorded well with little processing). These handle all of that very well. The sound is nicely balanced with no low end booming or shrill top end. The microphone and and controls work well enough for me - certainly well enough for use with a Duolingo French course. The gun metal finish is nicer than the black I had previously and the ear buds look and feel more expensive than they are. As to noise isolation, they cut down on background noise a little bit but nothing like ANC can do. They are quite sensitive and on an iPad can go very loud, but not so much on my Android phone. On the iPad they sound loud at half volume but on the Android phone 3/4 volume is just about loud enough. Overall, I'm pleased with these earbuds this time around especially for the price. Now I can bin my 20 year old Shure earbuds because I've got a more competent replacement pair.

They come out too easily
I am an amateur music listener, and cant compare the technicalities as I don't understand them... but I can say the sound quality is very clear but feels a bit distant, especially at first. It isn't a cosy sound. It feels a bit cold. The base isn't amazing compared to my JBL flow pros, flip 6, or even Tribit xsound go which cost 30 quid. But the sound is very crisp and clear, so if that's what you're looking for, go for it. It's handy having the volume controller, but I find it tricky adjusting the volume as all you have to find which button to press for either + or - is a tiny spot of a lump. Thus it can be a bit of a faff to change the volume. I find the apple earphone cable ones a better and easier design. Another thing is the fact they don't stay in your ears amazingly. Maybe it's just my ears, but I've tried all the sizes of bud they provide, and none of them are great. Also, when the buds are in your ears, there is an unpleasant loud base-y noise if you knock or pull the cable. The good things about these earphones are the noise, the style, and the fact they don't give your brain neurological cognitive disorders from EMFs from Bluetooth... However, for the reasons I have mentioned previously, I wouldn't recommend these earphones. Hope this review helps with your decision-making :-)

hear pretty much everything
For the money these are an excellent buy. I listen to all sorts of genre but more often than not it will be modern classical pieces, the likes on Einaudi etc. You can hear the bows pulling across the strings, the breathiness of a woodwind instrument, the hit of the hammer on a piano key or the fizz of guitar string on fret as well as hearing the sound of the note. The sound is sharp and clear. They are not particularly bass-biased. I had to change the equalizer settings to produce a bit more bass. They seem well constructed, the earbuds are in a metal housing and the cable is prone to NOT getting tangled. Hurrah! They are a comfortable fit with 3 types of spare buds, I'm sure I can't be the only person who wears different size buds in each ear and both are a comfortable fit. I bought the inline option, so useful to be able turn up the volume (or down) without ferreting in my pocket or bag for the iPod. And I spend quite a bit of time upping the volume as these are not as loud as the previous pair of phones I was using. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on phones which are going to get a lot of hammer so for the money these are ideal.

No bass, no dynamics
Bought these on the strength of all the awards & good reviews, to replace a ยฃ30 pair of old Sennheiser, who's cable has finally became faulty after many years of use. I liked their colour, and the feel of the cable, but testing the sound and they were were a big disappointment. I thought maybe I was mistaken, so I tried alternating the pairs of earphones during several songs, whilst the SoundMagic are sharp & clear, sadly they have so little bass and dynamics, the volume wasn't great either, despite their supposed 112db. These are being ret'd and I'll stick with my faulty Sennheiser until I can find something else.

Decent sound, controls could be better placed
I bought this for travel, and making Zoom etc calls/meetings. The sound & build quality is good, the carry casing sturdy. Easy to slip in and out of a bag/pocket. You will need an adaptor to use this on most modern phones without a headphone jack. I found the controls a bit fiddly, ill placed (a few times I reached for the binding that holds the wires together rather than the controls. All in all I'd recommend this product if you want some decent 'all in 1' call & listening headphones. If you headphones for mostly music /brilliant audio go for something a bit higher end.

Good Quality and Excellent Sound
Arrived next day to replace a pair of Beats headphones I thought I had lost (I just put them somewhere safe!) Comes with all the in ear rubbers, but the fitted ones are perfect for my ears. Supplied with a lovely small hard case. I was supprised when the packaging states they are "reference series" I think their view and that of the KEF homespeakers I have are slightly different, but the 10mm drivers are very nice for an in ear headphone. They sound crisp and clear with decent bass with (so far) no distortion considering what they are. The volume control and play/pause/next functions are tacktile and work ok. The one thing that is anoying is it didnt come with a clothes clip, for something that would cost a penny it should really be included (I used one from an old set) Overall a good set of in ear headphones with very good sound quality and nice fit. Interestingly the jack plug is a 45degree type (not straight) and fits much better in my pocket. Would reccomend to anyone.
