I needed a 7th/8th grade geometry book for my 5th grader. This is a high school text and we will need to grow into it. Would welcome any suggestions.

We got two (twins). They have been great and we love our girls doing their homework the old fashion way.We had a power outage for an entire weekend and they could not get any of their homework completed. Having these books has been great so we highly recommend it. It's easy if you have a question and want to look something up quickly. The computer takes time and may have a glitch. We found that having these around helps our girls access material faster and get their homework done regardless of whether or not we have internet access!

High school geometry text
I bought this as a resource to the math enrichment my daughter is getting, where the problems include a lot of geometry. She has just started grade 9 math in school (semestered) and is not doing this level of geometry yet. The book does not follow the Ontario curriculum (or probably any other provinces), since geometry is integrated into all years of high school in Canada (and most of the world).Had a couple of high math school math teachers look at the book. They said it gives a lot of detailed, clear instruction, which is a very good thing, and that it will be a great resource for grades 9-12 geometry. It goes beyond the Ontario curriculum in many of the units it covers (e.g., circle geometry and similar triangles). There is a newer edition of this text (2008), which I'm guessing incorporates changes in US curriculum, but which probably don't matter if you are using this as a general resource or to supplement other math texts.
