Smarty Kat Certified Organic Catnip is an only little bit pricey product with no apparent down side. Most cats love it, as it satisfies their need for stimulation, focusing their energies in a way that first drives them into a burst of activity, then mellows them into a state of pure pleasure. It’s well-known that most cats have this response to this member of the mint family; why isn’t so well-known, and I’m not sure it matters: the cat’s high is only temporary and harmless. You can use it to attract cats to toys, scratchers, litter boxes and bedding. As, according to the manufacturers, it’s grown, processed and packaged without pesticides or chemicals, it is safe for our four-legged, furry friends. It’s potent stuff: a few spoonfuls is generally sufficient to any use. However, the right amount can vary from cat to cat, just experiment and see how much your cat needs. In order to release the natural active ingredient in the product, you can lightly squeeze catnip-filled items or crush leaves with your fingers. The aromatic oils in the product will fade naturally over time: when you notice that your cat’s interest in catnip and catnip-filled items is waning, you will know it is time to add fresh catnip. You can keep the substance fresh by resealing the pouch after each use and storing it in a cool, dark place out of your cat’s reach. Kittens generally develop a response to catnip after 6-9 months of age. I currently have two male cats, a fraught situation no matter what. But you should see them hiss and squabble over the catnip: I’m afraid it does, briefly, bring out the greed in Peachy and Divo. They sure love it. What’s not to like?

As a gift I put some of this into the stuffing of little toys, to replace plastic beans and make them into toys for cats. Two years in a row and they are the cat’s favorite toys by far! They drop them at the bedroom door at night. They love this ‘nip!

My Persian Adult Cat really liked it. I had earlier ordered the same which came in a Jar, and was less costlier than this one which arrived in Pouch. However, its a wonderful product and perhaps better than what is available elsewhere. It seems this one is imported after confirmed order by the seller..
